National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad, established in 1961 was set up as an autonomous all-India body. Thereafter, by the National Institute of Design Act 2014, NID Ahmedabad was declared as an "Institution of National Importance" by the Indian Parliament. One of the most prestigious design schools in the country, NID Ahmedabad has been listed among the top 25 European and Asian design programmes in the world by Business Week over the years. NID Ahmedabad offers design courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels to aspirants. NID has three campuses that offer degree courses, namely, NID Bengaluru, NID Ahmedabad and NID Gandhinagar. Centralized placements are conducted for all these three campuses. NID placement drive is usually conducted in the month of November, every year. Being the main campus of NIDs, NID Ahmedabad campuses conduct many activities around training and placements to help students get acquainted with what to expect in their actual recruitment drive. The design school also offers hostel facilities to students. NID Ahmedabad consistently works to enhance the professional capabilities of its students. DSIR (Department of Scientific & Industrial Research) that falls under the ambit of the Ministry of Science & Technology has recognized NID as a scientific and industrial design research organization in 2015.

I am one of the proud parent who got an opurtunity to get study of my daughter from Gandhinagar campus,linked to NID,Ahmedabad.

It is the best institute for designing in India, it is open for visitors on weekdays except for public holidays, you can also attend the convocation in the campus, it also has a studio Nidus where you can purchase the products created by students of NID. NID also provide designing workshops during summers.

The best design school in asia. Amazing campus with enthusiastic students. Facilities are outstanding.

Great environment. Good ambience and a very adept location. The classrooms are open and free but feels a bit old or cramped, making the open planning not easy to experience. Clean and simple architecture. Built for purpose.

Environment is very good and nice place to leave during our studies. Very good facilities and enriching experience overall. It has a best facilities in India. Campus is good and it has lots of trees and birds, good wifi speed and placements are very good. Mess facility is very good.

National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad is one the most excellent places. It is creative and has lot of options to learn. It also has huge area around filled with lot of greenery. Even the food in the canteen is nice and pocket friendly.
