Nandu Tambe is a great and sensitive naturalist. Loves his work and due to which knows a lot. Very devout family. Fantastic food and tea was served. He also rescued a rat-snake from somewhere and released it in his own property! Has a hide for birding. Very interesting visit and will visit again just to understand nature, its ecosystem, different types of trees, fruits, animals, insects, etc.
Until I reached the place and met Nandu bro, I was in a different perspective. Once I reached the place, am more than astonished and honoured to meet these people. Their efforts towards conservation were way beyond our imagination. They dedicated towards ODKF conservation and did a great job in it. They maintained the ethics, hospitality throughout the session and damn am still struck at their place
One of the best places to shoot the Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher. Nandu makes very good hides. Perfect for photography. And you can do other birding also around here.

A getaway destination for a peaceful meet with mother nature and in guidance of naturalist Nandu Tambe. I along with 3 birdwatcher friends from Gujarat visited the place in 28 June 2018 mainly for Photography of ODKF (Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher), India's smallest and most shy species of Kingfisher. Nandu's Sanctuary is home to several avian species including Great Hornbill, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Pitta, Flycatchers etc. to name some from the list of 200+ found in and around this vicinity.
This is a place near Chiplun on Mumbai - Goa highway. From Chiplun on the western ghats 25 kms far called Shiravali village. He created some hides , that are eco friendly and Nandu takes all the care not to disturb the ODKF Oriental dwarf kingfisher which visits Nandu farm for breeding.
Great place to stay with peace, great ambience, homely food, cleanliness is five star, very cooperative n.. Highly knowledgeable owner... It's a second heaven thank you nandu Bhaiya
