A very nice jungle experience. Although we couldn't see much of wildlife here, but the feel of the jungle is very exciting. You can also bring your own vehicle (4x4 recommended) & visit the park. There are few rest houses too inside the park where one can stay. It is declared as a Tiger Reserve. As per locals, we have spotted tigers nearby Tanakpur Gate. We went from Chorgaliya side and went upto Jaulasal Rest House.
I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a wildlife adventure, and I can't express enough how incredible the experience was. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations, leaving me with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for our natural world. Here is my positive review of this exceptional wildlife encounter. thankyou so much team (Nandhaur)
Wonderful experience in this forest area which is in Uttarakhand.
Beautiful Mountain Range
Butterfly park was awesome, except this we couldn't reach otherside of sanctuary because in winters, tigers and other animals roam and they can hurt PPL too. Peaceful place, scenic nature view.
Best place for hardcore jungle lovers
Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary in Uttarakhand, India that was created in 2012. It is located in the Terai Arc Landscape, a forest zone that stretches from Uttarakhand in India and extends into Nepal. Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary lies between the Gola and Sharda Rivers in the Haldwani forest division and links the forests of Ramnagar and Terai central forest division with Shuklaphanta National Park in Nepal. It extends over an area of 269.96 km2 (104.23 sq mi). Since 2002, Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary has been a part of the Shivalik Elephant Reserve. The Wildlife Institute of India in 2004 recognised Nandhaur Wildlife Sanctuary as one of three viable habitats key to the long-term future of the tiger.
Nandhaur, which was notified as a wildlife sanctuary in 2008, has 45 tigers. The 269 sqkm area was proposed for a tiger reserve with an additional 578 sqkm of eco sensitive zone. But the CM did not approve the extended area and gave nod to declare only the original area of the sanctuary (269 sqkm) as the reserve.
