Nahar Retreat And Spa - Resort hotel in Kotagiri - The Nilgiris, India

Nice cozy place to stay .It is a pure vegetarian resort . Will not call it a resort exactly , as it is not a huge place Rooms are very good and spacious ,neatness can be looked upon more carefully The restaurant Prana charges exorbitant prices in comparison to the quantity they serve and you will not find any pure vegetarian restaurant nearby therefore you will have to depend on their in house restaurant The breakfast part of the package does not have huge variety and they are very adamant with their rules, for example when we asked for an Tomato or Onion dosa, they just told they have plain or ghee pudi dosa All in all a nice play to enjoy for a short period

A good place to stay. The roads to hotel is narrow and difficult to drive. Only Veg foods are available, which are tasty. Hot water available only in the morning and other time on request, which we normally forgot. All time hot water in an hilly area is required.

Providing 4 star because the in-house food is slightly expensive. They don't allow any outside food. Breakfast was really good. View from the room is decent. We stayed in other hotels in ooty with much better views. The place is very quiet, if you really like to skip the crowded ooty, Kotagiri is a good place. Drive from ooty take 40 minutes 29km from Ooty to Kotagiri. Rooms and washroom n all was really neat. Nahar is located right in the city Center, there are many eateries available in the Kota road.

I stayed in this property for 2 nights, only plus point I can think of is the location where the property is situated. Apart from that everything else is below average and exuberantly priced. None of the facilities mentioned in the property is functional. Food inside the property is pathetic and overly priced. They have a policy where outside food is not allowed just to loot money from people. Just imagine a small glass of milk with 2 packets of sugar for baby cost me Rs 75/-. They claim to have Wi-Fi but only available at reception with very weak signal. Overall, I would definitely recommend this property. Not worth the money and time.

I would not recommend this stay to anyone. Very exuberantly priced for nothing, no facilities at the resort, everything under renovation. Except complimentary breakfast, food is pathetic with highly priced. Just imagine a small glass of milk with 2 sugar sachets is priced at Rs.75/-. Also they have a policy that says outside food is not allowed in the property just to loot money from people forcing them to buy food at the property. No security at the gate to guide for parking, very congested parking space as well. Overall a negative from my side.

Nahar is a good option for lunch/dinner. This is the second time I visited Nahar with family. The ambience of the restaurant is very cozy and inviting. It was full even on a Friday afternoon. We had to wait a bit for a table. The starters were very good especially the veg spring rolls, the baby corn lollipops were also good, but a bit oily. IN main course the Malai kofta was excellent. At the same time panner tikka masala was really bad, hence deducting one star. The service was quick and staff is courteous. The quality of tandoori paratha and stuffed kulcha, tandoori rotis was awesome. The tomato soup was also great. I visited nahaar 6 years back and that time also food was great and this time also they did not disappoint. The fact that we get decent north indian food in tamil nadu is amazing. The food is perfectly spiced and easy ont he stomach and elderly friendly had taken my parents with me and they enjoyed it thoroughly. They also have a beautiful garden with a nice view of the hills. Will definitely visit again.

Had a day trip to the hotel..vegetarian hotel..had lot of restrictions for a vacation like they will not serve non veg food not can you eat it in any place. Inside the room, there was instructions to remove your shoes for getting into the main bed room..over all too many restrictions. On the day we went, the lunch was only north Indian and when asked for plin rice, I Was told it is not available.. Over all I would not like to be in a place with too many restrictions on a vacation.

The staff and people were amazing, the view from the hotel was so lovely. Overall, it was a very great experience.
