This tank was constructed under the Kakatiya dynasty, and it was repaired by the Nizam of Hyderabad. It is one of the biggest/largest tanks in the district.
This tanks original name is "Kesari Samudram" ( Kesari means 'Lion')
Recently (in the year 2018), this tank is developed under "Mini Tank Bund" constructions in this state.
Finally, by erecting the Lord Budha Statue in this tank, brought tourism look in this area.
