Mysore Town Hall - City or town hall in Mysuru - Mysuru, India

It's a Heritage Monument of Royal Mysuru City. It's located opposite to Royal Mysuru Palace in front of Jayarama Gate. It's like the White House of America. It contains a Auditorium inside. And the elegant view is mesmerizing to see this building.

This place could have been great IF they had maintained it well. Small auditorium. Sound quality and neatness needs to be maintained. Had been here to attend Dasara programs and saw lot of people sleeping on the chairs and on the floor. Lots of drunk people. Had to vacate within 10 mins since we couldn't tolerate the smell. These kind of people shouldn't be allowed inside. They just spoil the intention of this place.

During dasara projections are used on the building to display mysore history and karnataka tourism beautiful things, which is one of the coolest things to watch in night

Host to the beautiful 3d projection in Dasahra festival. Otherwise too a majestic landmark.

Architecture ***** Cleanliness ***** Maintenance ***** Charing patterns ***** Reserved seats for Media ***** This is for the first time , I visited The Mysore Townhall, I am very much impressed and overwhelmed to watch this. Maintenance is awesome. Mysore Townhall is just opposite to world famous Mysore Palace. Interior decoration is awesome and structure is superb. It is nicer to visit such places which increases our knowledge about our heritage.

A majestic and imposing edifice built of stone, Town Hall was started by Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar in 1884. It is named after Chettipantam Veeravalli Rangacharlu, the first dewan of the Mysore state (the highest ranking officer after the king). The facade is dominated by four pairs of Corinthian columns and the whole set is topped by pediments with elaborate carved motifs. A distinctive feature of the pediment is the sculpture of Goddess Lakshmi flanked by a pair of elephants. The building also has beautiful arched windows while the sides are adorned with balconies set off by cast-iron parapets. The building stands amidst greenery, flowering bushes and trees. Though it originally housed offices of the city government, it currently serves as venue for public events and performances.
