sheer waste of money and time both. the safari is 1 hour and all one can get is spotted deer, sambar, peacock/hen and pet elephants. its just 1 clean round route. it is actually jungle darshan and not a safari. the jeep is not open jeep , very difficult for 4 people who sit in the back. they have not even kept a feedback book . one should definitely avoid this if already done other safaris in India.
Should try the jeep safari to get the full experience of the forest and recommmended in early morning to see animals around
The sanctuary is best known for its jeep safaris, which offer visitors a chance to see the animals up close. The safaris typically last around 3 hours and take place in the early morning or evening, when the animals are most active.
While there is no guarantee of seeing all of the animals on a safari, it is a great way to experience the beauty of the rainforest and learn more about the wildlife that inhabits it.
Skip this place !
Not worth of our time and money .Better visit some good viewpoints .
Been twice and many known persons have visited this place .,never anyone said that they have seen wild animals
Its just always elephants and deers which can be seen in roads itself.
If you like to explore forest then It's a very good choice. Upon luck, can spot wild animals like deer peacock. Can enjoy nature and its beauty.
I recently visited Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary and opted for the safari experience by bus.Unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Although I paid a fee of 300 rupees, the safari didn't live up to my expectations. We had to wait for 20 minutes for the bus to fill, and during the 30 to 45-minute journey, we only encountered deer and peacocks, animals commonly seen on the roadside.
The lack of diverse wildlife sightings was disappointing, considering the time and money invested in the safari. I expected to witness a variety of animals in their natural habitat, but the limited sightings left me feeling unsatisfied.
I believe there is a need for improvement in the safari experience at Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary. Visitors should have the opportunity to observe a wider range of wildlife, making the experience more worthwhile. Additionally, the waiting time for the safari to commence could be reduced to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Overall, I felt that my time and money were wasted, and I hope that the sanctuary authorities take this feedback into account to enhance the safari offerings for future visitors.
Great location for the animals..
It was a bumpy and typical forest ride. Best time to visit is to be on the first Geep. So go there as early as possible even if you are a tiger lover..
You may get a chance to view the tiger or during summer time when the water sources are less, they may come near the ponds closer to road.
Officially you will pay one amount for ticket and geep charges are extra in counter.. Apart from that outside also they collect about 700 / geep and you won't get bill.. I was told I'll be given one but we forgot to ask for it.. Up to 7 people would be allowed per geep.
I reached there at 6.30AM. Waited in counter. Ticket got over. Next turn came at 8 AM. Sat in Bus, took a round for 1 hour. Didn't find a single animal. They have not arranged water for animal to come and drink. Waste of Money..No animal..Kerala government

Superb food. Underrated restaurant. We tried ghee rice, Fresh beef curry, and Kappa. All were top quality. The tea was refreshing. Dont let the appearance of restaurant fool you. Cost is also normal.
Very beautiful place and you live very close nature during your stay in Vayal Veedu. Rooms are neat and spacious. Location is also great and very close from Muthunga forest. Property is in the forest limits so you can see alot of deers resting in th
