It is very big and nice dam sarrounded by ayodhya hills. The dam inside the very nice forest.I things is...the road going this dam is very adventurous and also dengerous because of elephants of this forest
Newest dam in Purulia..but dam is very beautiful.. maybe journey is very long from baghmundi. But after reaching there you'll forget everything.. must visit this place .. you'll take hotel also in front of the dam .. one of the best offbeat place in Purulia..
from my point of view, Murguma Dam is a very beautiful place. It is situated in Jhalda, West Bengal. Murguma Dam is surrounded by hills, forests and many small islands within it. The view here is very attractive. There is a resort next to it where you can stay for the night. That is all .
Muruguma is a village on the boundary of Purulia and Jharkhand. It is nearly 340 kms from Kolkata. Located on the slope of the Ajodhya hills, Muruguma is not only known for Chhau Dance, but here are some of the unique points also that defines why one should choose Muruguma as their next Weekend Destination from Kolkata, Burdwan, Bishnupur or Jharkhand: * 15 Min Walking trail to reach the tribal villages like Muruguma & Guraberra. * One of the most picturesque location is located here- the top view of the Muruguma Lake. * To enjoy the evening beside Muruguma Dam. * Trek through the nearby Forest trail. * 30-40 Min Drive to the beautiful Bamni Falls, Marble Lake, Upper & Lower Dam. * To experience the fire of Palash Flower (Flames of the Spring). * To experience the lush green beauty of mother nature during the monsoon. The top view point of Muruguma Lake is a hidden gem of Ajodhya circuit. One of the best spots in Purulia, from where you can witness the bird's eye view of Muruguma dam. It's spectacular raw beauty is simply unforgettable. A must visit spot if you are planning a trip to Purulia. There are a few shacks at the spot from where you can have snacks like Maggie, omlette, tea, etc. Away from the crowd of the town, this should be on the top of your itinerary. Best place to stay in Muruguma, Purulia: Bon Polashi Eco Hut- Bon Polashi Eco Hut, the TripAdvisor Traveller's Choice 2020 Award Winner, is the most strategically located accommodation of Muruguma facing Ajodhya Hills & Muruguma Lake along with the 5-minute walking distance to the Spillover Dam of Muruguma during monsoon.
A place where I found every thing to be with the nature. This Less crowded by tourists place is a fantastic holiday destination for you and your family. If you visit the place in the spring you can swim in the dam. You can enjoy a fabulous sunset under a "Palash tree". You can watch " Chchou" dance too.
Nice place for weekend, picnic. Great views of real nature. But remember no hotels or resorts are available there. Some local food or tea stalls are there. People are very kind there. The water is not overflows every time,it is only happens when its monsoon. For better views and experience try to go between October and March.
It was nice journey from Kolkata to Ayodhya hill. You will move inside the dense forest of the extended Dalma Range. These are the areas full of Elephants and other wild animals. After reaching the foothill you will start driving up the hill. Roads are good particularly this is built up after the new govt. taken charge. A very well conceptualized project to built a road like this. A great tourist attraction. It will take 30 minutes from the foothill to reach on the top of the hill. On the top you will find a huge hydel project. You can enjoy the place. The nature lovers will love the place
Winter is the best time to visit here in fact Ayodhya hills. And Muruguma Dam has decent view. Local people use this dam water for their daily works.
