You cannot go by walk there as it's a reserved forest. With an entry fee of 600 rupees you'll be taken for an off-road drive into the reserve forest. If you're lucky you can see tigers, monkeys, peacocks, etc. In the journey you can see some of the tribal villages even though they won't stop there. The guide was friendly and explained about the secrets of the forest.
It's my one of favourite beautiful place ...from my childhood.. everyone must to visit this place..sorimuthu ayyanar temple located in this place.. Every year aadi amavaasai temple festival in this place..That time very crowd ..plan to before travel .Budget forest travel..Happy journey. Safe journey
Wonderful location and try to visit during the rain season. So we can see many animals like deer and peacocks. Especially plann after lunch but after 5pm people are not allowed.
The conservation efforts and effective management of plastic usage within the forest have been commendable. It's truly an extraordinary experience to immerse oneself in the serene environment. If you're looking for a more tranquil visit, I would highly recommend choosing weekdays over weekends, as weekends tend to be busier and more crowded. To enter the forest, the entry fee per person is Rs. 40, which goes towards the preservation and maintenance of the natural surroundings. Additionally, if you plan on parking your vehicle, there is a separate fee of Rs. 20 for parking. By implementing these fees, the authorities ensure that visitors contribute to the sustainability of the forest, supporting the conservation efforts and enabling the provision of necessary amenities. These fees play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, infrastructure, and overall well-being of the forest, allowing everyone to enjoy a pristine and enriching experience.
They are maintaining well , and restrictions of plastic in a good way! An amazing experience inside the forest , choose weekdays , weekends will be rush , and the entry fees for per person is Rs.40 , and Rs.20 for parking
It was a really good trip to travel to the forest..we saw monkeys, peacocks, some precious birds.we need to get permission from the forest officials before entering the tiger reserve and it's open between 8am to 5.30 pm.were we enjoyed water falls and papanasam falls in summer.
Feel good experience on bike ride around the hills and forest. We have seen a deer while ride the bike. The experience was very good. But the forest officers didn't allow to visit the kalaiyar dam. And we have not seen any tiger there.
Best place to visit. Especially in august . The festival will be conducted in sorimuthu ayyanar temple. So many people will come there. And also from the forest department they will open water from the dam for the people usage. Very very amazing place. While you climb you can see the hydro power plant. You Cant go by walk. And two wheelers are also not allowed.
