Mukti Hole Falls - Tourist attraction in Kodigadde - Uttara Kannada, India

Please note that the location in maps is incorrect. Please watch youtube @genuinepassengers Trek video for direction details. This place is inside a reserve forest. So please be careful. This is untouched by humans hands and a rare find. You need to speak to local villagers before entering this. Take their help and hire a guide to trek via the forest and river water bed or stream rocks. This will take an entire day, so carry water and lot of snacks. Do not dive in the pond otherwise it is fatal. Trek Level : Beginner & Advanced Trek Hours : 3hrs via forest and river bed, 2hrs to climb back up to the road. Total 5hrs. Additional 1 to 2hrs for those who want to trek above again to get top view of the waterfalls. Expenses : Tour Guide 300rs to 500rs negotiable.

Amazing place amidst forest. Bit tough to reach here as u have to come through honnavara-hirebail only. The other siddapur road is blocked after Nirgod. U will enjoy the waterfall, trek along the rocks and on the trail. No suitable camping spot near falls, need to find somewhere away.

Peaceful place to visit also difficult to reach the place The falls is in the middle of the forest.Which can't be reached easily without the help of locals.We started our journey from chikkolli at 9am and reached there at 1pm by walking.We walked over 15km there is no proper roads to reach there.You have to reach there by walking only.We walked on the side of the river which is still difficult because it's not a straight river bank we have to climb up and down to travel.After reaching there we spent 2 hrs after we again started our return journey which is again 15 km walk we reached our home at 7pm.There is no alternative way to go there in map if u search about this place it will show you routes but it will be not easy as it looks because from there you have to climb down which is very dangourous.If want to go there it's good to stay at night there & morning you can return.Also you have to carry necessary things.The weather is pretty cold at that place, but worth to visit. NOTE : Only this place is reachable with the help of locals only.

Mukti Hole (mukti holle) Waterfalls is located in dark and dense green forest of western ghats, which is near to Siddapur town (approx: 31 km from Siddapur) of Uttara Kannada District. Sub-river of Aghanashini river is creating this beautiful waterfalls. This place is unknown to lot of people due to lack of publicity and impassable road connectivity. Journey to this falls is very difficult because you have to trek in dense forest around 4 km in a steep way. Route Map: Route1: From Siddapur From Siddapur town, go in Siddapur-Bilagi- Doddamane-Kumta state highway. Around 15 km you will get Bilagi village. After Bilagi village (approx: 12 km from Bilagi) left side you will get "Kodigadde" cross. Then take a left deviation and reach to Kodigadde village. In Kodigadde village you have to ask with local people about route for Mukti Hole falls. With the guidance of local people only you can reach to the falls otherwise you will miss the route. From Kodigadde village you have to trek around 3-4 km in a dense forest. The way to reach the falls is too difficult. Route2: From Honnvar Honnavar --> Hadinabala --> Gundabala --> Kadehalla --> Hirebailu --> Mukti Hole. But this route is difficult to trek. Best Time to Visit: From October to January. Food Facility: Nearby falls you will not get any food facility. So you have to carry enough food from Siddapur itself. Warning: Beware of Leaches and snakes. Request: Please don't throw the food materials, plastics, bottles in the forest area and nearby falls. Keep this place clean and calm and join the hands for "Swacch Bharath Abhiyaan". Don't spoil the natural beauty.
