Mughal Sarai Gateway - Historical landmark in Gharaunda - Karnal, India

Marvelous structure. Historical protected site. It is in a narrow lane. We parked the car on the main road.

Thia place is good for visit. But there is issue no staff is there to guide about the Mughal sarai. Its locked from inside we can only visit from outside the rooms. If we wanna go on the roof of the sarai we need to use wall like lizard .

Best quality of food and best service way of talking is also good

Time to visit in morning 10: am to 5:00 PM. Govt. should develop this place as tourist destination.

This beautiful gateway along with nearby gharaunda Qila built around 1632 are same and very beautiful with excellent architecture of pavilion facades with two security towers on one side and the other side is simple facade with islamic arch designs and upper floor pavilion windows.The complete red brick structures and the massive ruins on the sides makes it a perfect engineering marvel of the bygone times as no body can build these types of structures anymore.

One of the most iconic and significant buildings of Gharaunda as well as Karnal. But it doesn't get the required attention from the govt/ municipality. Really needs to be taken care of.
