Mughal Darbar - Mughlai restaurant in Srinagar - Srinagar, India

We had wazwan there which tasted amazing. The waiters were really helpful and friendly. They recommended different dishes which we should try and explained the food items (how we should eat, the ingredients etc). Wazwan is the item to recommend there as it consists of multiple different types of kebabs. P.S:: I just came to know that there are 2 floors, we had our lunch on the ground floor. Don't know if the service is any different on the other floors.

The bakery is really good. Try their mutton patties, large bakarkhanis, and velvet walnut cakes. The staff is always helpful and the people at counter cordial. Way better than some of the newer fancier bakeries in Srinagar.

Mughal Darbar is a restaurant that claims to offer authentic Kashmiri wazwan, a traditional multi-course meal of the Kashmiri cuisine. It is situated on the main road east and is not hard to find. However, when my family and I visited this place, we were baffled by the fact that there were two restaurants with the same name, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. We had no idea which one was the original and better one, so we randomly picked the one upstairs. We hoped to have a pleasant dinner, but we were sorely disappointed by the food quality. The service was quick, but that was the only positive thing about our experience. The food was extremely salty and bland, with no trace of the flavor and aroma that we expected from Kashmiri food. We tried Kashmiri Wazwan, but it didn't satisfied our taste buds. The wazwan plate was expensive at 1200 rupees, but it did not match the value at all. The only roti they served was made of refined flour, as they mainly focused on rice dishes. The biryani was also mediocre and dry. The staff was courteous and attentive, but the food rating was 1/10. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy Kashmiri food. There might be better alternatives elsewhere that can provide a more authentic and delicious experience. Not recommended....

Very very subpar. They are very insistent you order what they suggest - which is a lot more food than one would need and correspondingly, a lot more expensive. When we said no, we wanted to eat less, we got terrible quality meat and surly behavior. Would not recommend.

They had the average food. I have visited both the Mughal darbar i.e the stairs one and one on the ground floor , stairs one has the below average food they don't cook properly and the ground floor one is better than the later. But they also had the average food. People don't have many options in Srinagar so I think that's why they are famous otherwise not up to the mark

Over hyped. Its not the same as it used to be in past. I went there last time and had some food. I immediately felt the chicken was rotten and biryani was also a days old. I thought it was one of an occasion. But then again i went there last night with my siblings. We ordered some packed food. Again the same old thing but we ate it anyways. Soon felt sick along with my siblings. Its been 3 days now.

This is a great place to eat authentic Kashmiri food especially wazhwaan! Service was good and the quantity was perfect. Wazhwaan came in 2 sizes 1200/- one was enough for 3 pax in my opinion 5500/- was recommended for 4 people but I'm sure it would take 6 to finish it! All in all a great place

Location is on main road east accessible. We went Mughal Darbar to taste authentic kashmiri wazwan. Firstly there are two restaurants, so which one is original and better I don't know. We went upstairs for dinner with family. Though service time was less but the food was really bad. Be it goshtaba or rishta or mutton rogan josh or biryani everything was too salty. No taste at all. Every gravy was same without taste. Kashmiri food what i heard of is full of aroma and taste but there i didn't find any. Wazwan plate was for 1200 but food was not upto the price. Also roti available was of complete maida as they prefer eating rice mostly. Biryani was also ok ok types. Staff was quick to serve but food was 1/10. Will not recommend this place if you want to try kashmiri food. Try some other place.
