One thing to be careful, the Cab driver might say the tickets will be over for the gov bus ride and advise you to get private ride from his contact. Don't get fooled as the private ride can be availed anytime, So better first check if you can book in the gov bus. Now regarding the tour, you should not have high hopes, mostly likely you'll very few animals but the experience of traveling through the jungle is really nice.
Calm, green all over and filled with thousands of deers everywhere, the best time to visit this place is during the month of May which will give you higher chances to see the elephants and tigers. You need 20 people there for a bus trip. If there aren't that many, you'll have to spend a lot more money to hire an open top Gypsy based on number of people going on one gypsy(3-10) plus Rs 4250 per jeep. If you're going there, I would advise you to purchase the tickets and visit the Elephant Camp first. It is the same place where the Oscar Winning documentary The Elephant Whispers were taken and you can find elephants being trained there. The Camp and safari close at 10am and safari opens at 3.30pm in the evening while the elephant camp opens at 5.30pm. Overall, a worthwhile place to visit if you go at the right time
Had a good ride. You can see deers on the road sides at anytime. Meanwhile elephants and peacock can be seen in the evening. Tigers and other animals is your luck. The place you can have a peaceful ride that calms your mind purely adventurous.
The bus tour was fair enough. The route they took was okay. Nothing to complain about. Online booking through their website is a dud. Bit pricey for what they offer. Can go once just for the experience. One has to reach early to book the jeeps.
Amazing experience, and we spotted the tiger as well. We booked the safari online from the official website if mudumalai We spotted the tiger in the afternoon safari.
Mudumalai Forest | safari | Bus Pros: A Budget as well as safari journey into the forest. - opportunity to watch wild animals in close range. - It all up to luck, because in our forest most of the animals are poached or hunted so very animals you could watch in this safari. - the safai van or bus windows are grilled ( after certain accident) - so kids can sit near window and watch animals. - deep inside forest is prohibited this safari is taken through safe places... where the movements of wild animals are less. - mostly we (my family ) witnessed, monkey and deers everywhere. - few lions tied, sleeping or resting - we also witnessed peacock randomly. - Elephants were usually seen in distance and in groups. - van or bus is cheaper 250/- or 350/- charged. In jeep the amount is costly 750/- to 1000/- Cons: Crowded, worth visiting once
The Luckiest show in the Madhumalai Forest is once We saw the Tiger inside the Forest. There are so many Animals are present inside the Forest.
Mostly seeing only deer but. Elephant camp and forest animals some evening time see in waterfalls side mudhumalai forest nice experience
