Mount Amara Hotel & Spa - Resort hotel in Siliguri - Jalpaiguri, India

The hotel is small and nestled in an alleyway off from the bustling street near Planet Mall. While the exterior and surrounding areas left much to be desired, the interior provided a pleasant surprise. Despite its dilapidated exterior, graying whitewash, and dirty doormats, the hotel's interior was notably clean and well-kept. The room, especially the toilet, was impressively clean. The shower had a minor leak, but it was not a major concern. The food at the hotel had a strong Indian influence, so I preferred to dine elsewhere during my 5-night stay. The daily breakfast was the same and consisted of bread, puri, curry, tea, coffee, three South Indian dishes, and two fruit items, one being watermelon. Despite the language barrier with the reception staff who didn't speak English, I was able to communicate using a mix of Hindi, Nepali, and English. The restaurant staff, on the other hand, were very friendly and readily available when needed. Overall, the hotel exceeded my initial expectations given its external appearance.

As our company had corporate tie up,had booked 2 room for 2 person.1 room with lift(premium room)and 1without.So I was put in a room which was no way premium nor was the lift available.telephone was not working,asked for clothing iron to which they bluntly said not available as one of the guests broke it last week.the toilet seat was broken and more surprisingly the door lock of other room which was taken by my colleague was not functional.as we were getting late for our meeting the staff at reception assured us that they will change our room,but to our atonishment the said staff had left after his shift without even informing about our request to the other staff taking over the shift.can't even say how casual their approach was. There were other guest too who were complaining about shower tap not working etc etc It was our first stay with Mount Amara but overall it was not pleasant at all. I hope the management takes care of this at the earliest.

So bad experience with receptionist and hotel staff. I had discussed with Receptionist for booking they confirmed that the room is available and said they will confirm after 2 mnt. but they have not call back..Ultimately I have call again and they replied no room available.

The hotel is okayish, the price has good value for money and the rooms are okay. Breakfast was very basic and honestly, I didn't seem to enjoy it. Food was mostly cold and boring. Room wise, the room was enough to satisfy me, the view was peaceful and isolated. The location is a bit inside so if you're here, you must love to stay in isolated places

Worst hotel I've ever stayed! The cleanliness of the hotel was below par. The rooms and bathrooms were not clean. Even the room was not prepared for the guest. The towels were not kept. The towels and bed linens were stained. Everything is to be requested and you have to wait for several minutes to get it. We requested dental kit and they charged for that. Being a person who stayed in rooms around the globe, this was the very first experience regarding the stay. The person who sat at the reception was arrogant. We came for check in, he was so reluctant to check even our details. Speaking of the food; the breakfast and dinner had only limited options. The plates and glasses were dirty. Overal the worst hotel I've ever stayed. Worst hospitality to the guest. Highly not recommended

Hotel experience/ reception people: booked a big room by giving extra 500rs but they gave me small room. They are not even capable of 1 star rating. Their behaviour was bad. I asked them deliver 1 distilled water bottle but the reception person directly said no stating kitchen has closed. Next morning i asked them to arrange auto for us they said 500rs will be levied. WTH. Their behaviour was very bad. Room condition: even after paying 500-700rs for upgraded room. The room was so small. It was smelling. Bathtoom condition was very bad very small, big hole was there in the bathroom. Anything like mouse etc can come from that hole. Ac was not working Location: they say its on main road but its behine a mall. You have to cross one small thin road to get there. Need to walk 1km kitchen service: their kithen service is more pathetic. It was bery slow. We had to sit atleast 1.5 hours to get our order given there were very less customers. Even after waiting 1.5 hr we didnt get our complete order. This is the worst hotel. The price for 1 room is also costly. Its not worth it. Plz never book a room from here

Don't want to give any stars. Because its not even worth even a single star. Worst hotel possible. We had booked two rooms, one room was filled with cigarette smell and upon calling the room service, they just sprayed some phenyl. And in the other room, the bathroom floor and walls were all sprayed with tobacco spittings. Also, my first time experience with this hotel who allows guests to party till late night around say 2-3 am with loud music, disturbing the other guests as well. And the location is so pathetic, they don't have a proper road and it's quite dark.

Room was ok. No wi-fi and telephone. I dont know about premium ones, s i stayed in deluxe room. Location wise its bit inside and the road leading towards hotel is not good at all. Hotel environment is good. Restro food is good and tasty too. Service was good. Manger is also good and polite. Even waiters are also good and friendly.
