Perfect place to spend your weekend. The park is very nicely arranged. The nearby lake is huge and has boating facilities. If you want, you can visit the whole park by bicycle. There is also a toy train system. It will take several hours to see the whole park on foot. Children's play equipment is also available. There is light and sound show. In one sentence - "The place is beautiful."
Motijheel, the cradle of British rule in India, stands witness to a remarkable turning point in Indian history. A 350 acre oxbow lake formed out of an abandoned bed of river Bhagirathi, the Motijheel, derived its name from extensive pearl cultivation during the Nawabi period.
A place of fun and joy... suitable for children mostly... light and sound show was good but it has been obstructed nowadays... overall ambience is quite good. It may become crowded during winters. Food court provides good quality food. One can enjoy the serenity here during the evening hours .

Motijhil (also Motijheel, literal translation: Pearl Lake), also known as Company's Lake due to its association with the East India Company, is a horse-shoe shaped lake in Murshidabad, West Bengal, India. It was created by Nawazish Muhammad Khan, the son-in-law of Nawab Alivardi Khan. The Meaning of Motijheel Moti means pearl and jheel means lake, thus giving its name Pearl Lake. The history of Motijheel dates back beyond the days of the Battle of Plassey. It served as a pleasure garden of Nawazish Muhammad Khan, son-in-law of Alivardi Khan. It consisted of a towering gateway, a three-domed mosque and a royal place named Sang-i-dalan.
I went to this place with my family. A group of 15 people. I had my best time here. We stayed in the beautiful cottages . The rooms were clean but some of the rooms were damped and speed of water in the bathroom was not great. The staff are very helpful. The food service was a little bit slow maybe because we were a group of 15 people. I would suggest you try the Thalis options they were very yummy. The property is very very beautiful, serene, scenic, clean and full of nature. If you visit this property I will request to keep it clean and don't through waste everywhere. Happy Journey
