Morris Mathias Hospital - Private hospital in Nagercoil - Kanniyakumari, India

I wonder how this hospital got NABH certificate. My parent was seriously ill and was in ICU care. Later they moved to room. ICU was just okay. Though frequent visiting hours are given, its just okay. Billing System for Cashless Insurance: However the billing system of ICU is horrible especially if you have insurance. They charge ICU as Rs. 104 per hour. And insurance in my case they paid it all. However insurance wont pay for the Pulse oxymeter Monitor and other vital sign monitor if its charged separately as hourly rental. An ICU bill should include this. Any ICU will have these monitor beside patient bed. Instead of Rs.104/hour they could bill us Rs.130/hour so that insurance will pay for it. Insurance generally wont pay rental for equipment and also mostly they wont pay for disposable as per your plan. The patient was given Non invasive ventilator BiPAP in ICU. The hospital charged Rs. 80/hour for the usage of equipment and Rs.10k for oxygen consumed . But Insurance only paid for the oxygen consumed alone which is Rs.10000. I wish they billed the oxygen along with the cost of BiPAP rental. I argued with the billing team. They said they cant change their billing method. They are really not educated or updated enough how to bill insurance and gave headache to the patient and their family The insurance paid their best for all the required service. If they billed the insurance accordingly the insurance would have paid more of the billed amount but unfortunately we paid a huge amount from our pocket. Nursing & Room Service at Hospital: I took the best room given. However the nursing station is the worst. The room does not have Nurse call button. And when we go to their Station, there will be hardly any nurse to attend to. And if we request for anything, it will take them to 8 hours at least to address it . Such a pathetic Nurse services we have. Not sure how many recovering patients would have their health worsen because of this attitude of Nurses at Nurse station. Rooms: Rooms are old as this is a very old hospital. But its renovated and decently maintained. However rooms have only one plug points. No plug points for air bed or for Phlegm Suction machine.They brought an extension plug point for this. And still no plug points for mobile charger or mosquito repellent. Wish the Phlegm Suction machine was included in room along with oxygen supply. Please include plug points. ( many room does not have oxygen facility though the hospital has oxygen plant) Though Rooms are big, Bathrooms are too small that if you are above 85kg or little chubby or fat, you may get stuck between the walls in bathroom especially if you are going for No.2. I wonder why they made bathroom this small when they have enough empty space to keep a cow inside the other room behind patient room. There is always been an issue of Bed sheet and pillows and pillow cover for attender. I wish they hadn't made the attender experience so hard when they are already going through hard times with their dear ones health. Pharmacy: As we are getting treatment as inpatient, the hospital Nurse ask us to buy medicines from pharmacy for replacement. And the replacement or the pharmacy billing system is very worst. Both technically and otherwise. The average wait time is more than 15 minutes. I never experienced in any hospital such as KIMS, PRS, Ananthapuri in TVM or Apollo, Globus or Fortis in Chennai sending a bystander to replace or buy medicine. May be this a very old system that they are still practicing. Also the patient information is not populated on their pharmacy system i guess. Patient has insurance and the staffs keep asking me to write insurance name on the prescription or the list they give us. Its tiring. Life as patient attender is hard here. Why I gave 2 star: For a fair ICU support care For a wonderful care by Dr. Samuel Ben Solomon. The doctor is very down to earth humble person. Don't go for pregnancy if you want good pregnancy memories Gynecologist are very good but nurses were very rude Long waiting line for scan centre (cheap but you have to wait for a very long time) Before delivering the baby, you will be separated from your family (which leads to separation anexity) ( pregnant women need someone from her family to be with her during those last tough hours) they won't allow anyone from your family to be with you After delivering the baby, you will not be feeding the baby for 2 days, the nurses will suggest formula milk. Your baby can't have your first milk (colostrum). The nurses were very rude. They will preach about Jesus and Christianity

Treatment wise it's good.... Immediate response towards the actual treatment was initiated in emergency room .... Good Housekeeping.... Fire safety arrangements was good..... Nurse's manual call points can be installed in all rooms for better communication in emergency situation. Providing of pillows and bedsheets to the attenders will be much better...... Doctors interaction and approach were good.... Overall review was good.... With some changes in basic amenities....

Super hospital, this hospital saved my grandpa from critical to normal condition, thanks Lord . supporting staff, feel home atmosphere, kind doctors and security. Jai shree ram , mashallah , Jesus Christ

I was treated for breathing difficulties. Several nurses treated me during my stay. All of them were excellent in every way and professionals!

waiting for one day in hospital very worst sisters not response and doctor is very late. Some problems treatment for other good hospitals. The time waste in this hospital .

The hospital has excellent facilities and it is clean, well-maintained. The waiting area was so spacious, with comfortable chairs and a calm atmosphere that made waiting for appointments less stressful.

Pls do not visit this hospital for any reason, we visited for my son's tongue tie, they simply try to loot only money, even tried another hospital in Nagercoil, it was far better then this. We are living in Dubai even here is the cost half of this hospital, people pls aware of this looter and don't visit this hospital for anything. they are not deserve for even 1 star.
