Morarji Desai Statue - Monument in Dumas - Surat, India

When you visit Dumas Beach, you find a Morarji Ranchhodji Desai's Statue who was an Indian independence activist and politician who served as the 4th Prime Minister of India between 1977 and 1979 leading the government formed by the Janata Party. During his long career in politics, he held many important posts in government such as Chief Minister of Bombay State, Home Minister, Finance Minister and 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of India. And also Statue of a monster made out of plastic waste to aware people of the effects of use of plastic on beaches, public places and animals. The use of plastic is very high in the Dumas area and the statue of this monster is installed there. It is made out of bottles collected from the area. Sculptures giving messages related to cycling, plantation, 'Swatch Bharat', 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' have also been prepared, said the commissioner.

Ok. I'm gonna just rate the Morarji Desai statue. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of it, as I was perplexed as kids were up there (yes you can walk up next to the stature taking stairs up) throwing bottles at the statue. I don't live here and don't know how to scold kids that aren't mine. But it's a great idea to have access to try and take nice pictures with Morarji. I wish it was better lit. I did add pictures of that area. Including the stomach virus I got from the bahjya place and a statue of a monster made out of plastIc waste. Good place developed by SMC at Dhumas. Nice walkway. Decoration. Place is Moraraji Desai smruti sthal. Area is developed nicely. Avoid plastic is good message given by creating huge devil statue of plastic bottols.

Dumas chawpati beach. Evil of plastic, sculpture made with plastic bottles. Nice place to chill with friends and relatives on weekends. There is famous bhajiya center and also attracts you dariya ganesh temple situated on beach side.

It is nice place to be. Currently SMC has installed colour light fountain which attracts loads of love from children. There is also a demon made of plastic waste bottles. Just hang out
