Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected wildlife sanctuary in the southern state of Karnataka in India. It derives its name from the presiding deity "Goddess Mookambika" of the popular Kollur Mookambika Temple. The sanctuary lies in the Western Ghats in Udupi district of Karnataka. It's perfect for monsoon trekking.
The pleasant atmosphere and the scenic locales make a journey through this forest even more charming. Trekking enthusiasts can also hike to this jungle from the forest office at the bottom of the hill. Interested people can also visit the two non-descript temples situated on this hill. Specialty of This Wildlife sanctuary is the presence of Coscinium fenestratum, or yellow vine as it is sometimes referred to in English, is a flowering woody climber. The views are amazing of you stop at regular intervals to look around. The main motivation to go here was pretty hit: be away from the flow of tourists (especially the White/Western) and on my India vacation enjoy also some nature alone. Kollur/Kolluru is a small village in the jungle that is 400 rupees and is located in the middle of the Mookambika wildlife sanctuary, which according to local sources Baindoor/Baindur/Bynduru /... on the coast with the rickshaw / taxi (price, there is no difference) from the railway station Tiger, elephant, Leopard, rock Pythons and at least one of the extinction endangered monkey species should have, Wonderful trekking place
An arduous off road Jeep journey from Kollur, followed by a steep climb on foot to Kudajadri shrine where Sri Sankaracharya is believed to have attained the seat of supreme knowledge ( sarvajna peetam)
The beautiful place with Lush green. While going From kollur. The place is very good and where we can see the waterfall on the far. The place is covered with fog on the surrounding.
I didn't like much cos I wanted a good place to trekk but the location isn't even moderately tough. Reaching here would need u to take the sharing jeeps from the Mookambika town itself. After a mountainous Jeep ride u gotta be ready for a extremely bumpy off road forested ride. But I must say the end result isn't commensurate to the trouble one takes to reach here unless ur primary purpose is to make a religious visit. Monsoon is the best time to visit.
Great place to visit on monsoon season... Enjoy the weekend here. I bet you ,you won't be disappointed..... Misty climate make you refresh and it will be their for your memory a long time . The mood of the place can't be explain with words. Just go and feel it.
Very good and cool place to visit. Awesome place who loves trekking. You will get Jeep facilities and they will charge 250 to 300 depending upon number of people. If you are trekking you will get hidlu mane falls in between the thick forest. After that you need to trek 6-7 to reach the Peak of the kodachadri. Nature beauty is extraordinary . You will get Awesome scenary. And please don't throw the plastic and paper over there, Keep clean and have safe and memorable and enjoyable journey.

A place that every nature lover will enjoy. Away from the main road on the banks of the Souparnika river makes it a wonderful location. Decent food, courteous staff and the experience of being in the forest. Not a typical resort kind of setup. No tv
It was open even though our check in time was over, and they allowed us. Very clean place. Parking needs to be a bit more spacious, but it's enough. The bedrooms were huge, so there was enough space. Really comfortable sleep. The views were really be
