Monorama Guest House - Hotel in Bolpur - Birbhum, India

Decent lodging and food options.. service needs some improvement.. atmosphere is family-friendly.. there's open space available.. it has a restaurant where simple food options are available, not too great, but decent enough

Located in Bolpur Shantiniketan. Very prominent location for people who want to stay near Biswa Bharati and Sonajhuri Haat. The rooms are spacious. All though not very luxurious but the atmosphere is homely and peaceful. There is a restaurant "Pancha Banjyan". It serves homely cooked food not very spicy and easy on stomach. Everyone might not like so light or less spicy foods but it was decent and we liked it. Personally I felt the tariff is overpriced. We went during peak season, dol purnima. The prices are less during off season. So the tariff varies depending on tourist seasons. Two popular places of Bolpur Shantiniketan 1. Biswa Bharati is just walk able distance. 2. Sonajhuri hat is easily accessible by toto, or one can walk (2km) if they wish.

Wh stayed in room no 115 which is a really big one for big families. But the main problem is the service, the owner is not maintaining the room properly, Bit dirty and service ok type only.

Their location is their plus point. Very near to Viswa Bharti and Sonajhuri hat. Guest house is also very neat and clean with reasonably priced, tasty Bengali foods also available at the restaurant name Panchobyanjan.

We had stayed at Manorama Guest House for two nights / It was nice staying there / Rooms were good / The location of the guest house is good / Definitely will Stay there again when we visit Santiniketan

From 19th to 21st January I have stayed at this hotel. Room rent and the quality of room didn't match. Minimum requirements like soap etc were not provided. Food was not upto the standard. A perfect picture of unprofessional attitude .

One of the best guest house in Shantiniketan. Situated in Shyambati, the guest house offers double bedded and four bedded rooms at a moderate rate . The plus point is the restaurant on the ground floor where lots of people have their lunch and dinner. They serve delicious bengali food at a reasonable rate. Rooms are ok. Clean and Clear. DO not expect modern amenities inside the room.

The only good thing about this place is it's location. It is very close to Vishwa Bharati, and the Shonajhuri Hat. The room that I stayed in was not upto the mark. It was situated on the ground floor, and had a double bed and a single bed. It had an airconditioner, but I did not avail it's services as the spring weather was quite pleasant. The room tarrif was Rs 1,800 without A.C. and Rs 2,200, if I would have used the machine. I felt the room was not good at the price it was offered. It was dank, and although it had windows, most of them were jammed shut. The room also had a very old television, that worked fine but didn't had the cable subscription for most of the channels. I did not have a problem with it, as I seldom (read never) watch T.V. The washroom was relatively clean and modern, with a funtional geaser. The behaviour and service from the hotel staff was polite and good. The in-house restaurant "Pancha Baynjan" was good, albeit a little overpriced. According to me it's an "okay" place to stay for a couple of days. The only issue that I feel strongly is that, it's overpriced (atleast the room that I stayed in was). Although this property have other rooms on it's first floor and some in another building on the same property itself, I cannot comment on the status of those rooms, having not seen any of them. To conclude, I would rate this property as "Good".
