Good home like feeling, nice view from the rooms and the restaurant. Restaurant is very comfortable having sofas and library for one to sit there for hours with the Sunshine and views and tea and coffee. Staff are good and cooperative. Rooms are clean and heaters and other facilities are there giving a home like feeling and quite affordable.

We were searching for a good place to stay in Uttarkashi on our way to Chardham and we found Monal on the net. Reading the reviews and seeing the pictures,we were very eager to visit it and we were pleased to find it as beautiful as we'd seen it. The property is family owned,has a wonderful old world ambience,well equipped and well maintained, helpful eager staff, delicious simple food, in short,all one wants and value for money. The place is very peaceful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious, clean and affordable. The cafeteria is well built with glass windows for view, sunlight and sunbathing early in the morning. The food is very homely and the staff is well mannered and professional. The owner is very knowledgeable and knows the landscape very well. You will enjoy your stay in this lovely homestay.

We stayed here from 26th Oct to 1st Nov 2021. The location is too good - away from the town buzz, divine view of the river from any window you peep. The food was simple yet excellent. There was hot water throughout and very neat and spacious rooms. The owner - Dipendra is so passionate about tourism. He helped us in experiencing the local food and culture. Our day trek each day was more beautiful than before. Very difficult to say that this one is the best. Would like to come again. Very grateful for experiencing such wonderful 7 days.

I've stayed at Monal many many times over the years. Definitely the best place to stay in Uttarkashi! Deependra is amazingly helpful, friendly and excited about the region. His staff are polite and also friendly. Rooms are super clean, warm beds, got shower, good breakfast and food if you want to eat here. All in all a wonderful to come back to after a day of exploring around Uttarkashi!!!

Monal is one of the best home stays you can come across in Uttarakhand. It is owned and operated by a local who is knowledgeable and passionate about Himalayas and Uttarakhand. This is a lovely property, located centrally in Uttarkashi. Rooms are nice, very well maintained and extremely clean. Service is fast and staff is friendly. I would highly recommend Monal for your next trip to Uttarkashi.

They picked me up from where the taxi mistakenly dropped me off in town, hooked me up with the most incredibly sanctified room imaginable after a long and difficult journey. The sounds of the river, animals in the trees and occasional Jeep on the road below were a welcome quiet from the previous days journeys. The food was offered with love as well as the stay. I'll always remember Monal's guest house.

As a guest house, it's doing pretty well to provide the rooms and amenities at an affordable price point. Their views are great, the sound of the river is a joy, you can reach for the stars from the terrace. It will be awesome if they fix the bathrooms!
