Food quality is tasty and good. Fresh food served here. Their sweet items are very affordable and reliable.

This is an antiquated place, in central Kolkata, opposite the previous Regal cinema hall. It is famous for its Hing Kachoris. There are few places who make Hing Kachoris in Kolkata and even fewer who make it well. This is surely one of those few places. It has an old world look and most patrons are either regulars like me who have been frequenting the place for 4 generations, or office goers and tourists who are looking for a quick bite at reasonable prices. I only go there for Hing Kachoris although they serve Samosas, Chats, Lassi, Sweets, Kudos and Mishti Doi as well. When you order for Kachoris, request them to give you hot, freshly made ones and the servers will comply. The accompanying alu sabzi may be hot and fresh also, if you are lucky and then the combination is unbeatable. The service is good and friendly, the rates are affordable and you will definitely get value for money.

Best kachori in town. Alu sabji gets repeated as many times as you want. Same applies for awesome hara mirchi pickle and chutny. Langcha is available hot- tastes better than many langcha sellers of Saktigarh. Must try kachori and langcha. I did not find Rosomalai that good as the milk was being very thin. P.s. alu sabji does not contain matar or other vegetables. Unlike many other sellers, the sabji is not dark in texture. Parking unavailable as this shop is on SN Banerjee main road, 3 to 5 mins walk from New Market or Esplanade main road parking/ crossing.

Only hing kachori is the best. Price is okay in comparison. Quality has detoriated over the period of time nit the same what we use to have some 35yrs back.

Dining date: 2nd May 2022 Though this old and popular shop proudly wears the distinction of serving Amitabh Bachchan (during shooting of 'Piku'), I found its hing kachoris pretty ordinary. No aroma of hing and flat in taste. What made the difference was the serving- kachori and a runny potato curry served with pickled chillies and a tangy & sweet, thin tamarind chutney. The former spiced up the taste of kachori and curry when taken together and the latter worked as a good palate cleanser between bites. One plate of four kachoris costs Rs 40. I asked for a half plate (two for Rs 20).

Lower than average Only famous for Amitabh bachchan came here during Piku film shooting.This photo pasted everywhere in hotel....... But day by day quality of food is decreasing.

Their kulfi is very delicious. It's served with falooda sev and rose water.(In my opinion it's better without the falooda sev). Kochuri tastes good, a green chilli mix is served with it,which is very tangy and tasty though the red tomato chatni is less spicy than that and not as good as that.
