MMR Gardens Hotel - Hotel in Madurai - Madurai, India

I'm not sure why ratings are poor but it's a very good hotel to stay.. specifically with family. The rooms are clean, staff is courteous - they give wifi password instantly, checkin doesn't take time, ample parking space available.. it's definitely not near to Temple but that's clearly visible in map.. the area has many good dining options nearby including pure veg and few good coffee shops too. We stayed here for 1 night and went to rameshwaram.. but looking at this experience, rameshwaram hotels which were costlier than this were looking bad, came back and stayed 2 more days and it was the same experience.

Rooms are reasonable . Location are also good just 4 km from temple . Services are very very poor category. Services like mineral waters, hot water in bathroom and other general Services are very poor. I will not give any single star for this. Even I had complained repeatedly for this but no response. Even no courtesy to regret the Services. We are in group and our total people has dislike this hotel.

Hotel is located in a good place very near to access into city. But it's not upto the level of 3star hotel. We stayed 2days. Both the days same breakfast. As it is Diwali time I think they don't have much options for variety. Rooms are near and clean but in the bathroom there was water leaking. They should improve little bit in room service as well as basic things should be provided in the room like glasses to drink water and first day complimentary bottle was there but not kept in the second day. Overall it's ok ok for this cost. If they improve little bit on the above things they may get better reviews.

Very average hotel. Room is OK but NO replenishing of mineral water done on the next day. Bathroom shower water heater is luke warm even after feedback to the reception. Hotel breakfast is of average quality. Lack of parking facility. Cleanliness is also average only.

Very very bad experience!!! I booked three rooms about two months before from arriving date through travel agency(#cocokerala). When we reached the hotel the manager was absent, one young underagedboy who doesn't gave us room due to which me and my family were waiting for one and half hour, then they provided us rooms but all the rooms were not.clean, also there were used blankets and washrooms were also not clean After we contacted the travel agency they changed the blankets. Food quality is also very worst the management is not proper because they served us non-veg food without asking before serving it... JUDGEMENT: DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. Reasons: 1. Got Insect in the Sweet Corn Soup at Dinner which was served to me. 2. Booked 3 Rooms but they gave us Single Single Twin Beds. Hotel Staff told they will joint both the beds to make a Double Bed, but they regretfully failed at the task. We had a 1 year old baby and couldn't compromise on this little thing. 3. NFC Cards to lock and unlock the rooms do not work. 2 rooms out of 3 experience this issue. My parents were locked for 1 hour and had to use Metal Keys to unlock. Even their Hotel Staff was locked inside next time. This scenario happened thrice which led to changing of room. But they could have checked beforehand about the quality of services they provide. 4. We had to leave early morning to travel to next Destination but we didn't receive hot water for bathing. It was not even lukewarm. I definitely know how to operate faucets and taps, but the hotel staff was explaining me I must have done something wrong and unable to accept their own faults. 5. Hotel Staff is Lazy and not bothered to serve food quickly. They will take literally 15 - 20 minutes to serve food. If for example your Roti gets over they will get it late so you have to sit back and wait till your appetite gets out. This happened with us. We went in at around 9.30 pm and came back at rooms at around 11.15 pm. By the way, we had prebooked our rooms. Thanks for reading till now. An excellent choice for staying in Madurai.Well maintained with clean & hygienic rooms. The staff are friendly and efficient. Adequate parking space. The complimentary breakfast is good with excellent coffee. Anjappar have a restaurant within the premises which is an added attraction. There are other restaurant options in the near vicinity.

This Hotel is located about 4.5 km from Meenakshi Amman Temple as well as Madurai Junction Railway Station. We are a family of 14 people on a pilgrimage tour. After a lot of research on the hotels near the main temple I have booked 6 rooms in this hotel. Rooms are comfortable. The size of the rooms is not large as well as not very compact. It seems the hotel is quit old and require renovation especially the interiors like wall painting, chairs and bedding need to be replaced. Several places the wall papers are torn, several stains on bedding and the towels are pale. Bathrooms are decent size with broken & worn-out fittings and required refurbishment. Service is decent and did not find any major hiccups. The rooms and bathrooms are kept neat and tidy. We had lunch (vegetarian food) at the Hotel restaurant (Anjappar Chettinad Restaurant), The taste of the food is average. The complimentary breakfast has limited options but, overall it is ok for the cost.
