For a budding artist like myself, i was extremely inspired by the collection of art that was displayed. Shirley Ma'am was extremely kind and i learnt so much from her on my first visit. I will definitely visit this beautiful museum again.
The least hospitable place on Lavelle Road. If you are looking for art, there are better places all around.
My colleagues and I entered the Museum hoping to speak to the curator since we wanted to buy some of the art pieces on behalf of our clients. We were met by someone whom I assume is either the owner or the manager. (she did not bother introducing herself)
Barely had we explained the reason for our visit, she was immediately dismissive, and replied in the most insulting tone that this was not a place that sold art and was not willing to even have a conversation with us. (Funny thing, they poster saying they had an art exhibition and sale going on)
My colleague apologised for the misunderstanding but noted that other centers in the area had been very receptive, she replied "Head there then". She walked all the way with us to the door and continued to stare at us as we waited to hail a cab. (Thats her in the picture).
In all my life I have never been so rudely treated. She had no reason to behave or talk the way she did. Even if she wasn't interested in selling, the same could have been conveyed in a polite manner.
I suspect that her attitude came from a misplaced sense of elitism and class (My colleagues and I are relatively young, and were dressed casually).
If she could not extend even the simplest of courtesies to visitors, I wonder how she treats her clients.
The art show was indeed a memorable experience. The setting couldn't be better, a museum of art which showcases some of the best talent from the country, a collection of art, some of the finest in its class. The show was very well curated and managed by a team of experts. Special mention to Ms. Shirley Mathew who is well known in the art circle for bringing the show together will an excellent theme in these challenging times. It was a fulfilling experience as the response was amazing and the displayed artworks were very well received. A big shout out to MFK Museum for making this happen.
Had a great experience at our two week long art show at MKF Museum. The whole event was very well conceptualised and facilitated. We had extensive media coverage and good walk-ins despite the pandemic. Thank you Shirley Mathew for all your meticulous planning. MKF felt like home! We are immensely grateful to MKF management and the whole team for all the warmth during our stay. Thank you once again!
It's a small space curated with some of the best collections of Indian modern & contemporary art. As soon walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff who is there to guide you and talk you through the show. Had a lovely interaction with them.
We also found a rare Tibetan Thangka painting which was so beautifully rendered with excruciating details! It was amazing to see a Thangka in person and we're so thankful for the museum for displaying it. There were a few pieces of Bengal style of artworks from the 20th century, which brought alive the time when Indian art was so diverse and peaking.
There was a tribal paintings show going on 27th November. It was beautifully curated with seating and books to discuss, interact, and just have a great time with art enthusiasts. Thank you so much MFK team to curate the works, we enjoyed it and hope to come again for new shows.
Visited MKF Museum of Art couple of days back. Quite a good collection of works. Intresting collection of ink Pens too. Mrs Shirley Mathew who Manages gave a curatorial walk.
Not to miss if you are in Lavelle road.

Had a very pleasant experience, Shirley was very hospitable and even got to meet the artist who's exhibiting and have a chat! Looking forward to visit again soon
