Visited here in childhood it was known as film City once upon a time now turned as film institute, in 90s tamil movies u can see many movies shoted here, i donno why they closed it on 2004 due to political indifferences between both Dravidian parties, great loss for low budget movies.
Its not a film city anymore and they havent changed in the google and lots of people are still coming. Even the locals are not aware of such information. And it turned in to an institution.
MGR film city is no more a visiting place for visitors. It is became a film institute now NOT ALLOWED OUTSIDERS
