Meylong Hills - Hotel in Gangtok - East District, India

It's was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in but the service is preety bad but the rooms and the views is amazing

The worst hotel I've seen ever. Let's list out the issues we've faced from the beginning - 1. The location shown in Goibibo/Google map was absolutely wrong. As there was some no entry and huge traffic jam, we had left our taxi in 100m apart from the hotel. But to our surprise, it was The Golden Crest hotel in that location and I had to walk about 45 minutes in that hilly path with my luggage and family (my wife and 3 year aged daughter). 2. We had booked this hotel from Goibibo app about 4 months back. The hotel directly denied our check in saying the rate is old and we have to pay extra for check in. We contact Goibibo and there have been a long conversation in between Goibibo and hotel management to solve the matter. Finally we got our room after 2 hours waiting in the reception. (Credit goes to Goibibo) 3. The room/toilet was not clean, we had to face the junks left by previous guests (packet of snacks and others) 4. We stayed for 3 nights, but there was no room cleaning arrangements. We had called the reception, the hotel manager a lot of times but no result. We had to use same towel, bedsheet for the entire season. We had to clean the room by own. 5. The food cost was very high, also outside food was not allowed. We had approached the nearby hotel "The Kanchan View" for our meals. 6. Let's list out the stuffs that confirmed by Goibibo, but was not available there - i. Wifi (they'll not share the password) ii. Air conditioner (though not required) iii. TV (card was disabled) iv. Fan (must required). I've given 2 stars just for staff behaviours. They were very polite and respectful. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel service are not good staff behaviour are very bad, no power back up they have all reviews are customised, so don't go with the review. Very bad experience.

Good for touring and for residing in this Hotel. Everyone has support for our tour and the Hotel owner and others staff were good behavior. View of the hill was from our room which is amazing for us.

We reached there after booking from Yatra and got to know our booking was not confirmed and Yatra had double booked it. But the staff and owner both were very helpful and they arranged a room even of next category. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The food was excellent and staff was also very curtious.

The hotel is ok. They have single car parking, if you are taking your own car, reserve the parking by calling them in advance. Service is not good, if you can manage with all this it is good to stay here, all the prime location is near by, like MG road, lalbazar chowk...view from room is also good.

Though the place is small and cosy the toilets is very small while taking bath one can feel the difficulty. Food is good on demand. The room needs get up with facilities like electric water heater on demand it was produced. On request second towel was given with soap. After first day things were normal.

We had three days stay at Meylong hills. Though the bookings were made well in advance, we got rooms on different floor. Food here is pathetic. The restaurant doesn't have enough space to accommodate even 10-12 people. Their service is too slow. Breakfast was not ready at the time given by the manager. We had to toast breads on our own. Utensils in which food was kept was not cleaned properly. On the third day, there was no water in the hotel from afternoon, when we asked the manager about the problem over intercom, he kept lying that it would be available in next 10-15mins (giving all sort of lame reasons like we have just started the water pump, there is some leakage problem, etc etc). Only when we went at the reception to talk to him upfront, he started calling the water tanker guys to make alternate arrangements. I would NEVER EVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Only good thing about this hotel is - its location. Otherwise it was an awful experience.
