A challenging though short, link course, with lots of up and down (and side!) hill walk on the wide open fairways. Not many sand traps or warerbodies. Greens are true, fast and well maintained. The caddy was knowledgeable, though couldn't communicate much, as I do kor know Kannada. Certainly worth a round if you are in area.
Course is lovely. Big wide fairways. Got to work carefully to get to the greens. Short game is important. Lovely views. Easy access from Madikeri Town when driving in from Mysore etc. Modern Clubhouse. Downs Retreat is a nice place to stay at as a member/ affiliated member or member's guest. Good food and drink. Polite staff. Great for a weekend away from the cities.
Great club with very polite staff. The golf course is well maintained & the caddies are helpful. The food is pretty good too at reasonable prices. Overall, a satisfying experience
he Mercara Downs is a 18 hole links style layout. The course is built with strong undulations along the fairway & greens as the layout uses the natural contours of the land. It is a Par 70 course that plays to 5497 yards & has a course rating of 67. Fast greens, deep bunkers, undulating fairways & windy conditions make it a very Scottish style course. Greens here have false fronts, huge elevation changes, deep bunkers and are a challenge to attack.
Nice challenging golf course with table top greens & amazing water bodies! Enjoyed playing here...looking forward to a revisit soon...
Had visited this place once in summer and once during early monsoon(pictures attached). This place is very clean and the vibe is too good.
The club is located in between Club mahindra and Vinvantha by Taj. Beautiful atmosphere and hand on staff. The newly constructed rooms are also comfortable and tidy. Exceptionally good food tried the pandi curry, chicken sukka and dal kichidi. My reason for rating 3 stars for the activities the club had to offer. If you're a golfer that's nothing else you can do here.
Access is for members and affiliate member only. Very nice place to stay and unwind. Food is good and staff is courteous. Did not play golf but looks like an excellent golf course

Had a nice experience at the spa. Though we werent staying at the resort. Took the ayurveda package for a couple. And got great discount since it was a lesser preferred time at the spa.
