Merbil - Lake in Naharkatia - Dibrugarh, India

Place is very peacefull. No noise is there and you will feel very relaxing. As per the workers the area is maintained by OIL and Govt of Assam. I went there on 22/04/2023. The whole area is full of greenery. The only thing that I didn't like is that I was unable to get any food item inside, except tea/cofee and Namkeen.

A peaceful and beautiful place for everyone. Best Tourists place in naharkatia. Tourists stay here to enjoy special day.

I reach this place on bicycle. It was after a long gap from my previous cycling experiences. Place was good and we took benifit of cycle by cutting our journey to merbil by almost 30 KM. We took diversion after tenugaht and crossed a river by ferry. This is the main mode of travel for local people. Also they were helpful and welcomed outsider to their place. Watching sunrise through tea garden and long tree was awesome experience. At merbil we spent time at island of silence. With lical guide Mr jintu kalita.

Merbil Lake is basically left over of flow of the Burhi Dihing river, surrounded by Merbil village. Generally, variety of aquatic birds is seen in the Lake though out the year. The heart of the lake can be called as a mini island. Normally people boating to cross the lake towards the island. Naharkatia is the nearest town of Merbil village.
