This historic ghat is a gem hidden in the Sahyadri mountains, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. The ghat is set against the backdrop of the Krishna River and surrounded by lush greenery, creating a breathtaking natural landscape. It's a perfect place for nature enthusiasts and photographers to capture the beauty of the Western Ghats.
Great place to have a pleasant time around nature. Beautiful architecture and very photogenic location. The place is easily accessible by road and has some beautiful temples . Do visit this place in monsoon season, it is much greener and beautiful
It's an ill-maintained heritage. I wouldn't suggest to visit. People release sewage water in the river, wash clothes and kettle, throw garbage on the ghat area and nearby. I went there with very high expectations due to find memories a few years back, but was heavily disappointed.
Menavli is a village about three kilometres from Wai in the Satara district. The village's claim to fame is due to the palace (wada) built by Nana Fadnavis, 18th century Maratha statesman and the regent of Peshwa Madhavrao II.
Beautiful Historic preservation of Nana Phadnavisancha wada and the famous Menavali ghat, old shiv mandir, and African baobab tree.
This is one of the famous places from Wai. This location is used in Indian cinemas like Swadesh, Gangajal, Dabang, Singham and some Marathi movies. This place is located behind Phadanvis Wada a historical house of one of the well known people from the Empire of Maratha history. People after visiting Phadanvis Wada forgot to check this amazing river ghat on Krishna river. This whole structure is made up of basalt rock. This whole structure is well maintained but cleaning all porches is what is missing. The village is small and en route to Dhom dam. People after visiting Laxmi Narsimha temple of Dhom village must go to this palace-like house. For an adult 50 rupees are charged, kids up to 4 years are allowed free to enter. For photography there is no extra charge but for documentary or videography you require to pay 5000 Rsfor an hour. Must visit this palace if you have a historical concern.
This is located just behind Nana Fadanvis Wada, but this can be visited free too. This needs some maintenance. This water isn't clean, some miss area around. Villagers use this water to wash clothes, bathe, wash buffalos or grains. But otherwise a serene place. Not much flow to river (not sure about monsoon times) there is a small temple as well - this seems special as for Shiva linga darshan one has to step down few stairs deep inside and it's total dark so one would need light to see the idol
There are beautiful temples and ghats in wai but this one is my fav place as it is less crowded hence serene and calm. You can sit here under the big tree or by the ghat on the stairs and enjoy the peaceful environment. There is Vishnu temple which remains closed all the time and there is Shiva temple which you can enter. It is a beautiful place one should visit at least once. Loc people generally use this place to wash clothes in the morning.
