nice place to visit ,its near by the university of burdwan and golaobag bus stop. A little park is there for children and there is a 3d show of space science. Regularly 3 to 4 shows are done. Also flower gurden js there where various kind of flowers can be seen. It remains closed on thursday and other nantional holidays.
Now, this is Meghnad Saha Planetarium...a seemingly new Crowning Glory of Bardhaman University...a place where the young minds get acquainted with the mighty Universe...where the lolly jolly kids get their first true experience of human evolution, birth of our planet Earth and solar system. The place is prominent...just opposite of Bardhaman University Golapbagh Campus, the outer area is vast and well maintained...the planetarium itself is dome shaped and modern...the display unit is top-notch. But the main planetarium is small... seating capacity is less and the shows are a little bit monotonous...no, this is no Birla Taramandal, Kolkata....but, I must say, a little bit of Midas- rays here and there, and the Sky is the Limit.
The planeterium is overall good with a well maintained exterior. The show inside was truly interesting and quite informative. The show, at the beginning, has only special effects, and later, the main show was about space science and discoveries and information given by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) by NASA. The effects on the dome was really good and exciting...Recommended for those who have interest in space science and have aspirations in the future for space science-related professions....
The place is spacious from outside. Like the park area and entrance area is huge and greatly maintained. I am a resident of Kolkata and do visit Birla Planatorium quite often. In comparison to that this planatorium is small in term of its show and show projected areas. Else the staffs are well behaved and friendly.
The shows are good but all of these are in Bengali language. The planetarium complex is need and clean and also have a good amount of flower and other trees. The audio and video quality is also good. A must visit plase if you are science lover or space enthusiast.

Meghnad Saha Planetarium is one of the best place in burdwan. Clean,calm and very well maintained. Ideal place for bringging kids. Environment of the place is awesome.This place is located just beside the Ramnabagan Wildlife Sanctuary. This Planetarium is about 2.5 KM from Bardhaman railway station.
It is one of the best planetarium in eastern India. The seating capacity is lesser than the planetarium of Kolkata. But technically it is updated. The whole area is very nice I loved it more than old Birla Planetarium. A must visit place in Bardhaman. Located just at a walking distance from the rajbari and well connected by bus and trains with Howrah (Kolkata). The authorities must promote it more. I just loved the experience here. The Planetarium hosted, along with astronomical curios, ultra-modern precision sensors, micro-processors and optical equipment used in the most advanced industrial and research sectors in the world. I was really amazed to see all this.
