My journey to Meesapulimala during the monsoon was nothing short of enchanting. As I ventured into the Western Ghats of Kerala, I was greeted by a world drenched in vibrant shades of green. The raindrops, like tiny jewels, adorned the leaves, creating a glistening canopy overhead. The trek itself was an exhilarating challenge. The trails were slick with mud, and the dense foliage seemed to close in around us, giving the sense of entering a mystical realm. As we ascended, the mist became our constant companion, occasionally revealing breathtaking vistas of the surrounding hills. Amidst the mist and rain, the air was filled with the songs of exotic birds, adding to the ethereal ambiance. The sound of cascading waterfalls accompanied us throughout, their waters tumbling down the hillsides, their echoes resonating in the lush valleys. Reaching the summit, the view was a revelation. The clouds parted briefly, revealing the panorama of the Western Ghats in all its grandeur. The sheer beauty of the landscape, wrapped in the monsoon's embrace, left an indelible mark on my soul. Despite the challenges, the monsoon trek in Meesapulimala was an unforgettable adventure, a journey into the heart of nature's untamed beauty. Neelakurinji, which blooms once every 12 years, turned the landscape into a sea of blue, like nature's own masterpiece. It was a sight that filled me with awe and wonder, a reminder of the stunning diversity and marvels that the natural world has to offer. This encounter with Neelakurinji added an extra layer of magic to my already unforgettable trekking experience in Meesapulimala
This is the best tracking and best experience that I had. 8km walk in 8 hills. 8th hill is called meesapulimala. I got a chance to enjoy snow there. This was one of my bucket list items. The colour, snows and beauty of nature will wonder u. My advice is to visit the place in season so that you will get beautiful views. Take the camera .. beautiful senories are there. A must try item in your life.
One of the most beautiful place in Kerala...
Beautiful scenery, serene colours of nature and moderate trek difficulty.
A glimpse of heaven on earth. Jeep safaris are available to go here and you can witness an amazing view, a sunrise or a sunset.
It's was great and new experience for us Unfortunately we went during rainy one side rain and the other side cool breeze It took time to climb coz of the bad weather Take and go some salt for backup Every where leeches will be there
An amazing trek... Difficulty - moderately difficult Risk - low to medium risky Around 21 kms Average time 8 hours Reached Munnar at around 2 pm. After completing the verification at the Forest Office, we were taken to the Meesapulimala base camp via a half an hour long jeep ride through the beautiful tea estates and a sip of off roading. At the base camp, we were welcomed with black tea and biscuits. After filling out our details, we were assigned our tents. Got freshened up and clicked some pictures. The campfire started at around 7:30 pm followed by a dinner with vegetarian as well as non vegetarian dishes. At night the temperature was around 9 degree Celsius. The bathrooms were neat, there is no provision for hot water. Look out for occasional leaches in the water. We were given sleeping bags and retired for the night. The view of the night sky is just indescribable... Crystal clear. The tents are neat and safe with zippers all along. We enrolled for the day trek, so after a breakfast consisting of puttu and curry and bread and jam, we started our trek with packed lunch for the afternoon. There is provision to keep your luggages safe at the base camp, so carry minimum things in your trek bagpack. Items for the trek bagpack: 1.Water bottles (1 litre, there are streams and a pitstop at Rhodo mansion where you can refill them) 2. Hat 3. Sunscreen 4. Sunglasses 5. First-aid box 6. Munchies ( Chikki, glucose, dry fruits, chocolates) 7. Packed lunch You will not require any warm clothes as you start the hike. The temp is comfortable enough without it. Also reduces your luggage. You will be accompanied by two experienced guides from the basecamp. The trail is an extreme of ascent and descent, so wear comfortable hiking shoes with good grip and clothes covering the legs and arms as you walk through thick shrubs and forest and in the sun. There are few pit stops to acclimatise with the heights. A 15 mins break at Rhodo mansion. Passing through 8 peaks we reach Meesapulimala and the pain is worth its beauty and serenity. Lunch break for half an hour and the descent starts. Reached the basecamp at around 5 pm. Black tea and biscuits and return to the forest office in jeep. Lot of great places to click photos, but don't risk your safety for it. There are packages like Sky cottage, Rhodo mansion at affordable prices. There are also treks starting from Rhodo mansion where half the trek is already covered by a jeep ride. Overall great experience. Was worth all the pain and effort.
I went with @HikerIndia(Insta). They specifically do meeshapuli mala and provides off beat destination near to it. Trek - Intensity is moderate. But the good thing is there is enough time to take rest and climb. Increasing order of height in an eventual manner but not always. Food : Carry food that can increase your glucose levels and always carry extra water bottle. Clothes - Wear light clothes if there is heat. Else go for warm clothes Leeches - There is a waterfall near to basecamp. If you are going in that way let me tell you , do not wear shoes with holes lile decathlon or any such and any shorts exposing your lower body. Its raining leeches of different shape and sizes. But the view is inexplicably good at the end thus you feel the journey as worth. Precautions like sanitizer or leech prevention stuff must be taken else it will be hard to remove fully sized leeches fron your skin Its Real. Hype comes no where close to the real view. Types of tremendous view has no limits. If you haven't been there yet, then its a great loss.Good amount of trekking is there. One must carry food. Don't pollute area with plastics.I am not extending my review this is literally a magical place. Contact me for further info @thevargiz

Full of greenery, hills, water falls and more with rain effect, all together makes more beautiful nature. Roads are neat and clean. One who loves to drive, this is the place for a momerable experience.
Out of this world experience...amazing nature's beauty revealed with all its splendour. Great travel experience through the woods and on the road. Clean Munnar...
Just a lovely sight to the eyes. Great place to get clicked. Although most of the estates are private so you might need permission to enter. There are few public photo points which your driver might know.
Mesmerized by the view of beautiful flower which bloomes only once in 12 years in specific areas, the floods spoiled the more parts but was able to grab the beautiful spots and nature shinning its own weather and spreading its wings. Munnar offers a
We were so lucky to stop here on our way from marayur to munnar. It's an amazing viewpoint with a river and a bridge. You can park the vehicle on the main road ( there is a little parking ). Then you can walk down toward the river and the small walki
Awesome experience. Soothing shades of green calm your senses. The nature's bounty. One of the most beautiful places on earth with long history attached.
