You can't enter through the main gate. I had to take a small road. There is no one to guide you or to provide information. Other than that, a good place near a reservoir where we can sit as the cool wind blows. It's calming and away from the city.
Silent place no more crowd and no ticket charge
A beautiful location to spend with family and friends. Basically an irrigation project for the local areas and underrated tourist destination. Main gate is closed and one small side gate is available to enter here with motorcycles. One can also enter here with side gates if you enter from left most gate driving through the borders. Locals are wandering around the premises. Hardly 800m from main roads.
A calm and quite place. They don't allow people through the main gate, you need to take a small detour to come inside from the side gates.
No security at the gate. The main gate is mostly closed. And the side gate is almost open throughout the day. One can always enter the dam through the side gate. The view from the dam is great. There was no abundant water when we visited the dam (last week of February 2020). Easily could spot many couples then and there. The major advantage is the super cool breeze on top of the dam.

It is one of the dam in palakkad pollachi route. We can also see this dam from seethrkund view point in melliya mathi hills. We can cover a trip between kollengode to pollachi via Valparai/Aaliyar/Coimbatore connect.
A pleasant place to spend the evening in silence along with family or friends! The dam has a side walkway to which access can be found through stairs.
