Meenam Restaurant - South Indian restaurant in Chennai - Chennai, India

A work lunch with colleagues. Food is certainly on the very high side of things. There's a lot of history surrounding this hotel and it was quite interesting to read. The ambiance is very nicely done with limited but comfortable seating. We had: Egg burji chicken - great taste but very little quantity Chicken pepper soup - tasty and tangy. Right amount of pepper Prawns fry - could be a lot better Baby corn 65 - nope. Not a 65. Just tempura fried baby corn Okra fry - Good stuff too! Biryani - on the bland side. Typical Tamil style tomato added Biryani with basmati rice. Nothing stand out I guess. We went out of convenience and well, it was just an alright experience.

Very bad food quality. Even road side fast foods r better in taste and quality. Very big disappointment. Burnt fish fry without salt. Briyani is very bad. Cocktails r more sugar syrup. Overall suggestion they need to revamp kitchen staffs.

This restaurant is charging Rs.50 for a water bottle whose MRP is Rs.20. (This is illegal charging doing by the hotel...If anyone using this hotel, Please do not purchase water bottle...They placed in the table....Please do not open the water...both are charged.... Breakfast is good Lunch is not cost worthy...Cost is more compared to that taste... Eg.. I have purchased curd rice...for that no subji and gravy is served to eat....but cost is more....

Fantastic food!! We had Curry Leaves Chicken, Mutton Rogan Josh, Veg Biriyani, Steamed Rice with Dal Tadka, Vanjiram Fry, Mixed Veg Curry, Butter Naan, Golden Fried Baby Corn, Ice creams with Carrot Halwa.. Everything was fantastic... We were so over whelmed that we took photos with the Chef... Mr Naresh

Chicken thali and naan we had it is very tasty and fresh. There is car parking places around 30 cars. Best place in chennai

Located inside one of the oldest hotels- Harrissons, Meenam is a multi-cuisine restaurant. During last few months this was closed for renovation and they are now Open. They have lost the charm over the time and I would not want to go back again here. Suggestion to the management: Service is pathetic now. Lack of staff Or what I don't know, but I spent more than 1 hour just to get my starters/soup. It took so long that I decided not to order Main Course and left. I saw many other tables as well, people left the restaurant just after having quick bites and everyone reported about the service quality to the restaurant managers.

Std no frills restaurant....sofas not in great condition. Food is good (liked Crab Chettinad and Chicken Biryani). Service can improve but if you are have time to kill, perfect place. Seer fish fry was BAD. Veg thali is good.

The Meenam that was 5 years ago, have changed a lot in terms of food and service.I visited this restaurant and had to wait for more than half an hour just for a soup.The waiters seemed busy and didn't have the basic courtesy to provide drinking water.Really disappointed.
