Medica Superspecialty Hospital - Private hospital in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

Medica Superspecialty Hospital is one of the well known hospital in Kolkata for its diverse areas of treatment and facilities. However my experience has not been pleasant here. Me and my wife visited Medica for Executive Health Check up on 21st May23. We spent the whole day from 8 AM Till 5 PM just to get all the test done. The whole process was chaotic and not managed well. We had to wait for every test as the test facilities are common with regular in-patients. For some reason, many of the staffs kept asking if we are from Bangladesh (whats the relevance?). Except one or two, most of the ground coordinators were not compassionate of their work and taking everything casually. In our previous health checkups elsewhere, all the tests are done by 2 PM. The TMT, Echo cardio test, and ECG staffs (Non-doctors) were unprofessional and kept shouting over phone or chitchatting among themselves while the patient kept lying and waiting for doctor who were running between test rooms. The whole hospital was super crowded without proper crowd management and seating arrangements. Similarly we visit a separate day for collection of reports and consultation and spent almost whole day again. There are some great doctors in this hospital whom I know but the remaining staffs lack empathy and coordination among themselves which is making the experiences of visitors unpleasent.

It has been a great experience with my sister and now my grandmother. The HDU unit was phenomenal taking all necessary decisions on time with well behaved doctors round the clock. This time two senior most doctors Dr PK SHETTY & Dr Dilip Kumar have been so brilliant treating my grandmother. I will personally recommend it to all. But be mindful of the expenditure. It is one of the high costing hospitals but they accept all govt schemes and also sastha sathi card.

I'd be happy to help! Here's my review: I recently visited Medica super hospitality hospital and was thoroughly impressed by the level of care provided by their doctors. Specially Dr. Harsh Dhar, Dr. Saurav Datta, Dr. Saidul Islam. My mother had tongue cancer and it was really hard to operate it because she has lever chronic disease also and for her we went to many hospitals but none of them where came near to Medica hospital. From the moment I entered the facility, I was greeted by warm and welcoming staff who made me feel comfortable and at ease. During my visit, I had the pleasure of interacting with several doctors, all of whom were incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in their respective areas of expertise. They took the time to listen to my concerns and provided me with clear and concise explanations of my diagnosis and treatment options. The hospital itself was also impeccably maintained, with modern equipment and facilities that instilled a sense of confidence in the care I was receiving. I appreciated the attention to detail and cleanliness exhibited by the hospital staff, which further contributed to my peace of mind during my stay. Overall, I highly recommend Medica hospital for anyone seeking exceptional medical care. The quality of their doctors and facilities is truly second to none. The reason for cutting a star is the staff members who do billing and all in oncology department make you feel like super busy person, they don't squeeze time to listen your concern very well. But rest of the people are Adorable as in nurses and transport .. I'm glad that I reached this place on time, the cost is also optimise and everything is fine here.. for any query feel free to ask .. Clinical service is fine. Nursing staff are inadequate, nonetheless they are trying their best. There is much scope of improvement in respect of service related to Foods particularly the timing and quality. My previous experience while treating my Father and Son in IPD was better. Look forward for a better tomorrow.

Overall experience was too good. My spouse was admitted here out of Dengue infection and fever. The staff of the hospital were too polite and warm enough to guide throughout. The doctors, emergency care, the nurses, the support staff were helpful and considerate. Thank you Medica !!!!

Changing my review after 15 days- went for stitch removal and first visit with Doctor after taking proper appointment. 1. Had to wait long hours before our turn came( what is the use of appointment?) 2. Had asked us to do many test done but no one took a peek on those. 3. A nurse did a stitch removal and charged us 650 rupees. 4. Doctor was roaming around but never cam to check on the patients (I did not understand why were we asked to take doctors appointment 5. We were asked to purchase medicines which after dressing the wound should have been returned to us, but we did not get it. 6. We were asked to do CT scan which we could have easily got done in diagnostic centers near our home but they want to get it done in their hospital only, which will be very hard for a newly operated patient, but it is non of their concern. They just want to earn money from patients without bothering to think how the patient and their families feel for all these trouble. My mother was admitted for knee surgery, she is really happy with the nurses and staff at the hospital and also her surgery went well.

According to me I found the hospital reasonably good in all respects including charges. However, the biggest drawback is such a big Hospital does not have parking facilities, though a Board mentions about Parking facility. Inside the Campus Hospital provides parking for Doctor's as according to Hosp that is important. The patients who come I suppose they are also equally important. Especially seniors. Who come with spouse. Request management to give a think to the parking issue.

My heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team of Medica health givers for the excellent care and very competent treatment given to my husband who had suffered a cardiac episode during our visit to Kolkata during the Puja vacations. Special and deep gratitude to Dr Dilip Kumar, Dr Kunal Sarkar, Dr Anirban Chatterji, Dr Dipak Kumar,Mr Mohammad Rafiq, Baby, Risa, the ICU nursing staff, Radiology team and all the other extremely helpful and efficient members of the Medica hospital.
