Mayanur is one of the famous tourist place in trichy district tamilnadu.
It's an amazing view dam, there is a shutter there ( berge), we used to go there to buy fresh fish,
It's just 20km from my mother-in-law's house,
A nice place to see while just crossing. You can spend few minutes for taking photos on the bridge. Although there is a park on the bank of the river. But it is always closed.
One of the Good place to visit in entire karur District. A amma park and this drive will be the place to look around.
And also it connects other side of trichy.

Good place for kids, well developed park now compared to initial days, new bridges have been built for easy transportation, some more improvements and maintenance has to be made in order to make it more kids friendly, Though the closing time is 6pm they clear the crowd by 5.30itself. The check dam has water flowing... Fresh dam fish available.
Mayanur dam which is almost 1.5 km long dam is a good place for sight seeing. Water flowing out of gates is just awesome. You can buy fresh fish directly from fisherman. Sellandiyamman temple is located nearby the dam. Children's park is located there.
