Matsyagandha Lake - Lake in Saharsa - Mithila, India

Very good place in Saharsa district of Bihar.I came here many times when I lived in Saharsa. Matsyagandha Lake (mtsygNdhaa) is an artificial lake in the Sattar Kataiya block of Saharsa district of Northern Bihar region in India.[1] It is approximately 1.50 km long and 200 m wide, and its water-retention capacity is planned to be increased to 6000 m3.[1] It was conceptualized in 1996 by the then Saharsa Collector, Tej Narayan Lal Das, out of a wasteland where dead bodies used to be cremated.

Again Boating started in saharsa after many years. It gives pleasure to visitors. And every year a 1 month fair is organized near the Matsyagandha Mandir that is also enjoyable. Only thing that must be taken care of is no one should get hurt during heavy rush on New year visit.. Bcoz that day a lot of people visit at a time.

Only serene place with a lake in saharsa. A must visit for all.

Very good place in saharsha district [bihar]for visiting . Anyone can enjoy boating in this lake . Ticket cost of boating is rs 100 for 30 minutes for 4 seated boat. 4 people enjoyed it at a time with rs 100 charge. Matasyagandha temple is also situated here.

Nice place to visit with friends & family. The temple and the lake are so peaceful.
