Matrimandir View Point - Tourist attraction in Bommayapalayam - Villupuram, India

For those with limitations of time to physically witness the Concentration Chamber of Matrimandir get a partial Vibe just watching the gold clad dome of Humanity and Peace. Suggest the traveller to better make an online booking in advance, though the visit to the view point wouldn't need it .

This view point for Matrimandir has a very small space and if crowd is more you probably wont get to have a good view as well. The Matrimandir is very far from here, but still it look so pretty. You have to do a little walking to see this view but its totally worth it.

You will have to walk a lot to reach here, so come fully prepared. You can book tickets as per your convenience. We were a bit disappointed as we could not see the Maitrimandir. Overall the experience was good.

Very underwhelming. We walked a long distance from the entrance to reach this spot only to realise they don't allow people inside the dome. You need to be staying at Auroville and book the place in advance in order to meditate here, which kind of defeats the purpose. Three stars only because the people at the spot were very friendly and nice. It would have been helpful if the criteria for entry is given at the entrance or at the reception.

You need to walk for 1 Hr from the parking area. Except Matrimandir society members, no one are allowed to go inside or even nearby. 1hr walk will reach you to a view point, where you can see Mantrimandir from almost half KM. We felt unworthy. There is a bus facility for return journey from the view point. But you need to wait for almost 45 minutes because of less shuttle services available and you need to stand for the whole time. Suggestion: Instead of going there, better watch in google maps and available google videos.

Absolutely visiting Matrimandir in Pondicherry is a must for anyone seeking serenity and beauty. This golden globe attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. To ensure a smooth experience it is advisable to book your slots in advance at Aurobindo Ashram if kne wants to meditate. Ashram also offers eateries and souvenir shops. The walk to Matrimandir can be quite long, but not to worry there are free shuttles available to make your journey more convenient. Enjoy your peaceful visit!

As soon as you enter the visiting center, you will see all the details about Auroville. And they have some restaurants and places to drink as well. Then you make your way to buy tickets to Matrimandir viewing point.. Not the Matrimandir itself. It has quite a distance to walk.. They have shuttles to take you in for older people only. But whole coming back anyone can come. The walk itself was a good one.. But since it's april When we visited, it was just hot and some places to stand in shadows. And once you enter the place you are greeted with large trees and a place to sit and take photos. Then you enter the viewing point itself. You just see the dome from a long distance and that's it.. There is even less shade to sit in and all you can do is take photos and just leave.. They are constructing a dam and another spot to take some photos with a fence between us.. But is it worth the hype no.. If you want to have a good time.. Book a room inside Auroville and participate in events which they have and especially come in for a week or 10 days to have some good time.

Better to go in winters as it is too hot in summers and humid in rains... also u have to walk a lot to Matrimandir, there is no transport available... till last year we were not allowed to go inside the Matrimandir , as it was closed due to Covid ... u can just have a look from out side only from the garden area around Matrimandir... u can enjoy the nature ...
