This is a very busy railway station in holidays or Janmashtami because it is the main railway station of Lord Krishna's birth place. Here India's 2nd rail bus service is available, which is operated by Indian Railways. It runs from Mathura Junction to Vrindavan in morning and evening.

Mathura is a religious place. With good hotels and restaurants. While traveling form jhansi to kedarnath I changed my train from mathura junction . This station have great facilities for stay as in waiting room etc . Staff is quite helpful

Mathura Junction is very busiest junction, but its build structure is very old and have less space as compared to other biggest railway junctions. Morning and evening have more rush there just because of local passengers.
