We have been visiting this place since last 17 years and Panorama has been our only preference in terms of stay. The staff have really been cooperated towards us including the waiters, room service, manager. All the meals served by them is really really delicious and mind-blowing as they serve too many varieties in a single meal. Loved the food. The property, the ambience is so good and the place is so quiet and peaceful. All and over best place to stay if you're visiting Matheran. Always a green flag to this place.
Getting to the points is a great experience. Some of the paths are densely forested, quiet and very peaceful. Alexander point is very close to the Market. The view is awesome and would be best during sunrise or sunset. On the way to the point one of the locals pointed out a mini echo point which was pretty neat, keep an eye out for it.
Louisa Point in Matheran is a popular destination for hikers and photographers who seek panoramic views of ancient forts and scenic vistas. The spot offers two viewpoints - one showcasing the sky-touching mountain beauty, while the other presents breathtaking views of the civilians in the valley. Visitors can use binoculars to witness gorgeous landscapes including Gourelloa mountain, lakes, and waterfalls visible in all directions
Best point view... Near by matheran railway station... You can also see the grabbett Plateau in the left side of the point.... Best place for night tent without fire.... Tent placing is at your own risk... But it gave a nice night.... But be safe... Don't make camp fire because heavy wind so it can spread.... Enjoy the night life in the hill... Wake up early and see the nature beauty and sunrise on the mountains
Though my pictures are of off season's and also off time's as this point is famous for sunrise view...this is one of the maintenance points in Matheran..if possible try to go here @ time of sunrise ..damn sure you would love it.
The ghodawallas might not bring you to this point because of their nexus, but DO visit this place. It's just a few minutes' walk away from the market. A local guy Sujay Bhosale runs a stall there along with stargazing and overnight camping facilities. Definitely worth the nature trail hike to this place!
We will almost similar view as in Khandala Point. But this is worth visiting and one can cover the entire Matheran in one day. The Main points to visit are Alexander Point, Khandala point,One tree hill point,Louisa Point and Sunset Point. All are attractive during monsoon and before November
This place is just a few minutes' walk away from the main market. The ghodawallas might not bring you here, but it's worth a visit, specially during monsoon. An old heritage structure is situated hidden on this route, where Sir Rudyard Kipling (author of Jungle Book) spent his childhood when in Matheran, this place was one of the inspirations for his famous characters like Mogli and Sher Khan! A local guy Sujay Bhosale, whose family take care of the old Wallace bungalow, runs the lemonade stand on this point. He's lovely to talk to, and offers stargazing and camping services at nominal prices. Do talk to him when you're there
