Matheran, a charming hill station, is a paradise for nature enthusiasts. I was captivated by its tranquil beauty and clean, pollution-free environment. What I like about this place is, that no vehicles are allowed within the town. Additionally, no cellular network is available. So you can have freedom from any disturbance. The toy train rides, which takes you up the hill, offers breathtaking views of lush greenery and the valley below. We stay here for 3 days, and it's highly recommended to be here for at least 2 days. Because, this is dotted with numerous viewpoints like Panorama Point, Monkey Point, and Louisa Point, each offering a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. Exploring the dense forests and meandering pathways on foot or horseback is a serene and rejuvenating experience. Matheran's delightful climate, fresh air, and the warm hospitality of the locals make it an ideal getaway. This quaint hill station is a perfect escape from bustling city life, offering tranquility and natural beauty that left a lasting impression. The best season is monsoon and still, not much crowded. The perfect hill station point is the Panorama Point which includes Jungle Trekking of more than 2 kilometers. this can be an unforgettable trip with your family and friends.
Really loved this place. Admist the nature and no pollution. Matheran is a weekend getaway with family or friends to enjoy between nature and go in for treks. You can either take a horse to matheran from dasturi naka or a toy train. You can walk too, the clin is about 2kms. The toy train has specific timings that you have to keep in mind. Overall was a great adventure!
This is the most beautiful place in Maharashtra. Rainy days are very beautiful here because the view that you'll get is the best one. But the problem is you cannot go there by bike or car. You need to get a horse to visit the places or you can walk. If you walk you'll get very tired.
This place is quite beautiful and scenic during monsoon season. Summer season is not at all recommended for the destination to enjoy, one will be roasted under scorching heat. During monsoon season one can buy use and throw / one time raincoats for rs 60(thin plastic) and rs 150(better quality plastic but half sleeves). Rest, one can get to listen to a variety of birds like the whistling bird. Train timings are to be confirmed before hand as only 2 trains run during the day in the morning. Trains can be avoided in the monsoon season as the tracks may be blocked due to fallen tree trunks so better to enjoy the scenic routes walking.
I visited Matheran twice at 8 years interval, but one thing that is still the same is it's nature. It still remains so refreshing and Greeny, all due to the Restriction of vehicles on the hill station. As the vehicles are not allowed, there's zero pollution on this Hill station which is the main plus point of this Hill station and which makes it more beautiful than other hill stations like Mahabaleshwar and Saputara. Also the roads are also improved a lot which makes it easier to walk to different points.
This place is suits only young people. We have to walk more to see spots and it seems no attractive. It's full of monkeys. Monkeys will attack who carrying eatables. It's very dangerous for tourist to walk with eatables. One should think and know about matheran before going. No two/three/four wheeler available. Only depend upon horse if who cannot walk in the hill
Serene!!! This place is timeless and precious. It has not changed a bit since my childhood. Perfect weather, good food, and always a good soothing experience. Endless, beautiful roads, always a good idea to go in the rains and winter season. Small ride to trains to reach the main market and then the food is so delicious. Must visit if you haven't yet it.
Great place to hang out with family or friends! At the top of the hill , the breathtaking views mesmerized us, and the invigorating fresh air provided a pleasant respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, Trains are available every hours.
Best place if you want to Trek/walk for hours. All view points are worth trekking. MUST book the hotel online before you visiting the place and visit on weekdays. Worth staying 2-3 days to cover all the view points.
Dasturi point is a start point to Matheran. Has good parking space available and can accommodate many cars. At this point, you will have to decide whether you want to walk or take a horse or train or buggy to reach the main market or hotel. It takes

This temple is located in the hill-station of Matheran in Maharashtra, and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This is the oldest temple in Matheran and the deity Pisarnath is the grama devata of Matheran village. The idol of Lord Shiva in this temple is 'Sw
Instead of riding a horse, we trekked for 5 km to reach One Tree hill and it was worth the experience. The path to the tree was a bit challenging but the view and the feeling after reaching that place was amazing. We started early in the morning arou
