Matha Eco Camp - Campground in Matha - Purulia, India

This place is no doubt far more exquisite than how it has been portrayed in various social sites. It's a perfect remote location and a tranquil place to enjoy your winter weekend. You will be staying underneath the Ayodhya mountain range and experiencing the scenic beauty. The staff here are polite, gentle and very helpful. They will arrange everything for you and the camp fire and barbeque in the evening is just awesome. Overall it's a perfect place if you are visiting with your friends but I think they should arrange something else for the couples tent. It should be placed somewhere else for privacy.

Management is very bad. The behavior of the staff is very bad. Roadside shops serve better food than you. In winter you won't get any hot water for bathing there because they won't give it to you. If you go to say, they will argue. Wast of money Matha eco camp why you open it?

I am Sharing few images of the food provided during dinner time. I am already pay total amount befor 5days of my checkin date.but the worst quality of food provided by the management .Totally waste of money. Service quality is very bad. i suggest everyone kindly don't try this place.

Peaceful, Out of the daily city life and mind blowing view when you wake up from sleep. This is not a hotel but a place to camp. All necessary amenities are provided but keep expectations to the ground as this is no 5 star hotel but a place where you feel close to nature. Cleans tents and bathrooms. BBQ can be arranged in the evening for you , just let the staff know. I booked the place for 5 of us after speaking with the owner and his wife. They were honest upfront and told us what was being offered and didn't set any false expectations. They assured us safety and security for women travelling with us. We as a group felt safe and the staff a call away from us while we were there. Once reaching there, the staff greet you and are always ready to help. Special mention for Mr. Sandip Banerjee ( care taker ) ,he truly was a great host and gave us the welcoming feeling the whole while. To conclude, great place , safe and well behaved staff who are always ready to help. Congratulations to the owners and we shall visit again in the future and will recommend it to friends and family.

The staying experience at Mathaburu eco camp is a mixed one.The things worth stars in rating are the location of the camp, the staffs and the food . But, you have to face difficulties in the form of lack of amenities like a proper bed ( only some broken ' taktaposh' were provided in the name of a cot), watching a tv in the evening/night to view news/game/ movie when you return from a sight seeing tour or you have to stand the outside heat of the environment through the aesbestos roof in the room at noon and a nighttime bug attack in the name of a camp stay but the price for your such a compromised stay is not a compromised one and which is rs.1100/- (including food) per person per day which is like the price of a hillside 3 star hotel stay and the whole to be paid before entry. To me, it appears a bit overrated in view of the worth of the staying experience to be obtained by a guest over there. however, I reiterate that, location of the camp worth valuing it as it is just at the foothill of Mathaburu and the staffs are cordial and courteous. The food provided are also good . But, overall , considering all aspects, the stay could be taken as a bit overrated.

It was a fantastic trip, enjoyed a lot with my friends. They provide great hospitality and staff were friendly in nature. Camp location is set amid beautiful nature surrounded by mountains. Camping tents bed were clean and we did not had any problem staying in a cold winter night.

I visited purulia with my husband for short holiday of 2 nights and stayed here in their small tent. It was clean, cosy and warm inside. We did bonfire and barbeque on both nights. The location is also great, just at the foothills. The staff were courteous and guided us well for our sight seeing. Bathroom is separate, but clean and hygienic. Overall good experience of short stay. Recommend.

Place is good enough for just one night stay. Not more than that. Bathroom available. I would recommend to go only for the tent package and not the food package as food is not at all good. There is a good restaurant close to this place where you can get decent food in affordable price. Also do make sure to confirm each details with the owner thoroughly as there is huge communication gap between the owner and the caretaker.
