Massanjore Dam - Tourist attraction in Masanjor - Dumka, India

I am in love with this place, it felt heavenly. If you park your car near the dam, some local youths will charge Rs. 100 parking fee(no official sanction whatsoever), but you will be able to find free parking place just a little ahead of the dam. The picnic spot is near the youth hostel.

Good place for picnic, and a photogenic place,fast food,hotel,staying place all are available. Place need more cleanliness,boating is also available,per head 100rs. Over all good place, green trees,small hills ,water all can give you a feeling of healing. One day tour is good. Family members can enjoy here,one can take bath here

This dam is situated on Dumka district of Jharkhand. There is a 2-3 hotel option. Best hotel is Mayurakhsi. There is Massanjore police station. You can enjoy with your family on this awesome picnic place. There is boating facility available which cost rs 300 per boat.

The lovely greenery of Jharkhand in the rainy season is fantastic. The parrots in the environment is the spark of this place. Be careful of the monkeys in this area. They try to snatch food from your hand. Not much of a food option available near the dam. However, the twists and turns of the hills are things to enjoy. The scenic beauty is mesmerizing. People are helpful but be careful at night. You have boating options. They charge around Rs100 per head for 10mins on speed boats. Not much of a bargain is considered. They provide safety jackets so safe it seems. There is plenty of parking available on the streets.

This is one of the prominent tourist place in dumka district. Parking place is available near dam . You can park in side of road. As such no charge was there. Boating facility also available,but I didn't try but I saw it is speed boat. You can definitely try. The dam is working and electricity is being generated here . I think by board it looks like it is maintained by Govt of West Bengal. The dam is located at a scenic location. All sides are mountain and greenery. You can to the river side by following road which will take you to bottom . Food option not so much. Rest you can enjoy with your family. Enjoy pics.

A large dam with very scenic views around. You must do the boating around the sunset for a great experience. There are few shops for mainly breakfast and light snacks, do not expect too many items ( as on 2023 October)

We have visited this place in the month of October. It's a very beautiful place for one day outing. It's well suited for picnic/photography and also for boating. This place can easily be accessed from Dumka rail station by car or local transport.

The massanjore dam is really a beautiful place . The dam made on the river Mayurakshi . It is one of the main river of this area. The dam made for irrigation on agriculture and prevention from flood issue. But the scenic beauty of the area is superb. If you boating here you will enjoy a lots. The hills and river Lake view gives you the precious energy on your mind . And the other side of the dam you can enjoy the valley . You can go through the river bed and the stone and the water from the dam come through. The green valley between the hills just gives the positive energy .
