Marthoma Pontifical Shrine (St. Thomas Shrine Shortest Route - Catholic church in Kodungallur, Azhikode - Thrissur, India

This part of India is important from the historical persepctive as this is where three important religions entered India. From a tourist perspective the place is a bit worn out from the outside though. Tip: Take the ro-ro ferry from Cherai beach to get here which will make your tour more worth it.

Very nice place to visit and know how St. Thomas came to India and see his skeleton of is right finger. This place is right on the sea banks and very quite and peaceful place to visit for spiritually connecting to God

It was beautiful space ro spend time with family. But now it is not well maintained and no activity to do there

Apostle of Jesus of Nazareth came here. His remains are kept here. It is called relics. The place also preserves the relics of other saints and Blessed of Indian church specially of Kerala. It is wonderful experience to visit the spot. The attendee lay woman is a reasonable woman having basic devotion. We feel pity to Syromalabar religious nuns who are serving in secular institutes don't priority to the preservation of the places of the apostle of Syromalabar church. Also we see Indian religious work only where there is monitory values and social recognitions. Kerala mass wine, host extra is made by secular companies because religious dont get much profit in it. Syromalabar church yet not learned to use the religious nuns for Evangelization and cooperative services of the diocese.

Great and quiet place for peace of mind and a prayerful atmosphere... Here we can see the remainings of St Thomas which is securely kept in a locked room. Since we were only 3 friend for the visit, the good people there allowed us to visit the holy remaining of St Thomas. Other than the holy visit we can see a light & sound show which costRs600 for a group of people and boating which costs the same.

A great pilgrimage centre to visit. They have collections of holy remains of various saints. The church setting is excellent, just by the water front and boat services available.

Nice place. Has relics of St. Thomas. Located near to sea having boat service.. Can have a round of old Muzuris town.. They also provide with a digital show about St. Thomas's life.. Peaceful place for prayers..

One of the ancient churches in Kerala and authorities have been taking good care of it.
