Marquito's Guest House - Guest house in Panaji - North Goa, India

I happened to visit this place last week. Writing my reviews point wise 1) Location is very good. Places like Down the road, Joseph's Bar, Off the records, casinos etc are very close. Property is decent. 2) Services: I would say pathetic - TV not working. When asked to fix no one turned up to fix it. - Bedsheets super untidy like some C- grade films was shot there. Same issue with towels. Cockroaches in the bathroom. - breakfast - not eatable. Very unhygienic. Eating space filled with dust. Eventually had to take it to the room and that turned out to be not eatable. 3) Owner just came to pick up the money which Rs 2500/night and never showed up when called. Ridiculous hospitality. I regret not seeing the previous reviews made by a foreign lady and others. They haven't learnt from their mistakes as they have been ignoring their reviews everywhere. I request you to please read people's experiences and then decide. It's not at all worth paying even Rs 500/ such a space. Thank you.

This place doesn't even deserve a one star rating, it should be shut down for being a HEALTH HAZARD. The only good thing about it is the location. Would only reccomend this place to Gordon Ramsay for him to film the next episode of "HOTEL HELL", because that's what it felt like. Stayed there with my family 2 weeks ago and can say it was the worst guest house I've ever stayed in. We had booked a 2 night stay but ended up checking out the next morning. Encountered a number of problems one after the other on the first night. From the mold on the curtains, dirty towels, sheets and pillows with marks and stains that look like blood, to not having hot water. We had to ask the staff to replace the pillows and towels and they still had stains and smelled awful. The cleaning staff sunny didn't even bother to clean the washroom before we checked in inspite of reminding him multiple times - the pot had urine on it when we entered and his idea of cleaning was just throwing water on the floor, no sanitization whatsoever. He was extremely rude as well and picked up a fight with us without reason and acted as though he owned the place. The bread served for breakfast didn't even have butter on it. Tv was just there for show, it wasn't even connected and didn't have any channels. Ac was leaking. All the above were just the bare minimum requirements for the price we paid, didnt expect anything extraordinary. Owner had more excuses than solutions and only woke up after we had reported multiple issues to him multiple times throughout the day, as though he was not aware, which going by the previous reviews shows the team was perfectly aware of all the issues and this was a regular occurence. Even if it was the cheapest option in that area I wouldn't stay there or reccomend the place to anyone. Use the same amount they are charging and book your stay at one of the other guest houses around the area and save yourself the hassle. The only good part about this whole issue is that i checked out the next morning and didn't have to stay for the second night. Stay was an absolute nightmare and my first day there was just spent running after them to fix the issues. Sad to see such a beautiful structure in a beautiful location be managed so poorly.

Located in most popular centre of the Goan town with beautiful Portugal style painted tiny houses it was a good stay .People often visit this old town renowned for its colorful houses and intertwined little alleys, preferred for photoshoots and content creation. I had expectations but it was contrasting in reality. The room we were alloted was not clean Walls of the bathroom we're having problems and not worth the price we paid ie 3250/- per day

The location is perfect in the middle of a very cute street with colorful Portuguese-style houses, bars, restaurants and guesthouses. The room are small but comfortable. The staff is super nice and helpful! And the breakfast is really yummi :)

Pros: This Guest House is part of Fontainhas & close to 3 Vintage Bars and close to Casinos many eateries Cons: Many Lazy & Pathetic reception, unprofessional, For good 6 hours no towels toiletries blanket water or water glass & AC was not working & had water issues, though I have asked twice still not provided compact rooms, check-in they took 1 hour, Spoke to owner asked for refund would look for other property & Being rude to reception boys, then the problems solved , this is clear symptom of remote supervision Their dining is dusty floors are dusty not wiped. Bed spreads and Towels though washed not clean. I personally don't recommend this place. They just give Bread and one single omelette has breakfast nothing extra we cannot ask and not given .

People often visit this old town renowned for its colorful houses and intertwined little alleys, preferred for photoshoots and content creation. I had expectations but it was contrasting in reality. The room we were alloted was not sanitised. Walls of the bathroom had molds. Flush and shower were broken. Wifi wouldn't connect no matter how long we waited. The water pipes from first floor running down just beside our door leaked smelly all night. Plug points would not function. I am not nitpicking at the poor guest house run by an old man. This was my true condition after checking in. It was not worthy of the amount i paid. After complaining, he offered us a little room to compensate since they wouldn't refund.

We stayed here for a weekend. The guest house location in very beautiful old latin Quarters. Place is nearby for most of the casinos. Streets are so colourful. Owner was good, but staff here not properly behaved. A complementary breakfast is served for us, which was good, but the staff in kitchen were rude. Everyday only breads and poha served, that too limited quantity. I think management should give proper maintenance of the rooms and amenities. As this is located in good place, more people will come in that case.

The most disgusting place I've ever stayed at. The staff was sweet enough to make my bed when requested as it was dirty and unmade but the sheets were dirty. They have blood and food stains ALL over them. I swear to god I couldn't make myself sleep peacefully in those sheets. It is sooooo unhygienic. The rooms are TINY The staff is not pro active and the area is disgusting too Their "upgraded" rooms are also so bad, you'll realise half of Panjim is just an Instagram gimmick. Don't go by the pictures of the area. It is dirty and under construction. I ended up checking out after just 1 day of my stay to get myself another hotel The hotel staff took the full amount on day 1 (for all 4 days) so I ended up paying for 4 days for a sad and dirty 1 day stay. Edit: I had to leave the hotel and book another property within Goa by paying almost double because of how bad and dirty Marquito's was. It is so bad you'll want to pay extra to get out. And you can clearly see the management's reply on this review to see how deluded they are about their property. It's filthy and so is the management's attitude.
