This small museum is must visit in Mahabalipuram. Many beautiful maritime artifacts are displayed here. The wonderful thing is the ambiance and the brass articles & ship models. Entry ticket is minimal and can spend 45 mins . This place is close to lighthouse and Krishna butter ball.
This museum is near to Light House and is a very informative. The model of ships are very well made. Some old equipments and old methodologies are also displaying there. This place is well maintained. All students will definitely be interested. Must visit museum. The entry fees very nominal is Rs10 for adult and Rs5 for child. This place is open for 9:30AM to 6 PM.
One of those places that make a clear case for why govt should not be running touristy places. Useless place. There are a few models of ships and lighthouse equipment covered in inch deep dust, which by itself would have been fine had it not been for the very rude staff. We reached at 12.30. The woman at the ticket counter was reluctant to give us tickets. After some dumb charades we understood that there is lunch break from 1.00 and 2.00. We took tickets anyways hoping to cover the museum in 30 min. At 1.00 however, she literally drove us away - not even ok with us waiting in the garden while the museum doors very closed. Don't think the government is making profit anyways on 10 rs tickets ...it's squandering tax payers money. Better to privatize so that it can be well maintained and the staff retrained for hospitality...
It might be a small museum but it's worth watching. Importantly they won't accept archeology tickets, you need to purchase tickets separately.
This is first of its kind. Very very special. This is carrying good maritime historical items and story with that. They have collection of all the types of old technology of light house like sun lamp, oil lamp, gas lamp and from 1000 to 5000 Kelvin. This really awesome place to visit once in lifetime.

The hotel is truly no-frills. You get a decent bed, a clean room, a hot shower and a quiet sleep. That's about it. But compared to the other shoddily run guesthouses in the area it's extremely well run. The owner (Yuvi) is super organized, trustwo
