Serene place to visit in Masinagudi. You can see the mini hydro power plant closely from here... Get a local guide to accompany you as it's under restrictions. No entry fees required. If lucky we can spot some wild animals along the way.
During my visit to Maravakandy Dam in Masinagudi, I was captivated by the serene ambience and the picturesque setting. Nestled amidst the lush Western Ghats, the dam offered a panoramic view of the surrounding hills and dense forests. A haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, the still waters mirrored the sky, adding to the scenic beauty. All in all, Maravakandy Dam is a tranquil retreat for those seeking to reconnect with nature.
Have some space to be free and make a good time. We didn't get the access to visit the whole place as it's under some law bound and due to safety reasons. May be it will be open after sometime.
It was a nice place.. but we were not allowed to visit this place as some work was going on.. so we we had to leave early.
An offbeat location in masanagudi, calm and serene and isn't crowded at all that's the best thing, i guess people are coming to know about this place so less people reach there. It's a bit inside from the town, the dam is one to be mentioned. Old but the best and if you are facing the dam and you look right you could spot Ooty !! Such a lovely place. Winds all around and no one to bother. Family friendly as well
It was pleasant place and not crowded at all. It's a small dam and we could see the mini hydro electric plant. It's located on the way to, just before the Mayar dam.

The place was very peaceful. We stayed in a room with mountain view which was very good. Rooms are very neatly maintained. We enjoyed the campfire in the night a lot. Food was very good and homely. The best part of the stay was the services from Vija
Wonderful service! The location is perfect as it is a bit outside the town. The food was tasty and they also accomodated our request for hot water to drink. They were helpful about giving information about the times to go for some animal sighting and

It is a decent place to have breakfast. We ordered Uttapam and it good. You can ask to add less "Oil". They do serve omelets, juices and many more things. You can sit and relax. This place has ample parking space and clean rest rooms.
