The stay was very beautiful. The host was very nice and the food was amazing. Right behind the beach awesome for a great swim in the morning and evening. Nice location and beautiful view for the sunset and great yoga in the mornings. Definitely recommend to everyone for a traditional home stay.
Great stay at Marari Xavier Homestay. Only one night but Sunitha is a good host with a fun sense of humour - happy to chat to you, in my case about cookery, since I love home cooking Indian style. Nice inclusive breakfast (we kept it simple to fruit, toast, jam, but egg and local savoury dishes are available too). There are lunch and dinner options and everything we ate or saw others eat was delish! Sunitha was really helpful by accommodating my request to watch food being cooked and note recipes, and she went to extra lengths to show prep and explain what to do. The homestay is about 20m from the beach, which we had to ourselves for swims. Didn't experience any tricky currents; saw someone litter cleaning the beach in the morning so it's probably cleaner than many Indian beaches. Didn't leave the area but saw others getting tuk tuk into Allepey for a morning out. I think there's four rooms, the upper three share a nice wood balcony and palm-tree backdrop with glimpses of the beach. Would recommend staying!
1) It was a home away from home with wonderful welcome and service. 2) Shiju chetta and Sunitha chechi treated us as their own family. 3) Rooms were good and the location of the room was not even 100 metres from a wonderful and clean beach. 4) The price is reasonable for the kind of room, food and location. 5) Their authentic Kerala style food preparation was lip smacking.
We had a lovely stay at this peaceful, welcoming property! The family are so generous and accommodating and the food is some of the best we've had on our travels. They will be more than happy to help with anything you need.

Wonderful home stay in Allepey right next to a beautiful private beach. Home cooked breakfast and dinner was some of the best food we had over our whole trip at a very reasonable price. The hosts were also very helpful with organising our plans for our next stop, I would highly recommend this home stay for anyone staying in Kerala.
I had a short family vacation. The rooms were neat and clean. Food was amazing. Our 2 year old son enjoyed the private beach. Mr. Xavier and family were very friendly and helped us on every aspect of the trip.
