The lake and garden in the middle so pretty from the palace above. I went there in August and the lake was pretty full. And it looked amazing.

This lake is located just below the Amer Fort and is fed by rainwater flowing down frim the surrounding hills. It's located about 10 km away from the main city, and used to be the source of water for the residents of the area for two to three centuries. The visarjan of Ganesh idols after the festival also takes place here

Lake is beautiful and has a beautiful garden -Kesariya garden in between. Going in the lake via boats is not allowed. You can only watch the lake from the banks where there is Lake view point and also from the aner fort. The lake has greenish colour indicating the deposition of moss over the years.

This lake is situated at the entrance of the historic 'Amer Fort'. The famous Amer Fort is one of the most visited forts in Rajasthan. The "Maota Lake" outside the fort adds a certain charm to the entire fort. In early years Maota lake was main water supply source for Amer. "Maawot" is the local name of rain which falls in winter season and this lake easily filled by maawot in winter season, so it got its name Maota. Mothers call the rain in the winter season and it got its name due to being filled with mawat.

Maota Lake is located at the base of Amber Fort, west of Jaigarh Fort and approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Jaipur's Pink City and the City Palace--about a 20-minute drive.
