Nice fort with a scenic view, unfortunately tourists have ruined the place, it's not maintained properly... Around 250 to 200 steps to climb, steps are manageable with kids ( number sounds big but we didn't face any trouble from kids while climbing). Roadside parking facility and few ahops/hotels for quick snacks.
If you visit, be aware that there are approximately 250 steps to climb. No detour is required because it is right on the major highway. The fort is truly beautiful, evoking a bygone period. It is disappointing to see that the government is not investing in turning this into a tourist destination by adding information via boards or audio/visuals. They could make some money off of this, but at least they would be educating visitors about the area's illustrious past.
An amazing star shaped fort on the hill top in western ghats. Such a good place for group photos. This place needs a little hike uphill to reach the fort. Great views around.
Nice place to relax. It has good views in all directions. Not too crowded. There are no entry tickets. There are around 200-250 stairs to climb to get to the entry of the fort.
Awesome place where we can see the best architecture of a mankind with a limited source. Shape of the fort is perfect star shapes without any errors, we need to be fit to reach the fort because we need to climb more than 400 steps and 1km in height. Main gate of the fort open at 8:00 am, parking facility is too bad, we need to reach location early otherwise we unable to get the nearby parking. Eatables and plastic bags are not allowed. People already started to ruin this place.
Great place to see, Tipu sultans fort for the military. Can find how they strategically built this fort with hideouts, self equipped built in rain water sump, and much more. Seems good photoshoot location if less crowded. Can spend 30 to 40 minutes inside. Might have to climb stairs for about 20 mins.
Nice place- but access to it bit tough- lots of stairs to reach, but the area is under construction (hoping to have better access soon). But good structural historical place of must visit. But make sure u reach before closing time as it closes exactly at 5pm. It does have food options at the starting point and have side path for parking.
