Manipal Hospitals Jayanagar - Featured Reviews (7276)
Visited this hospital for my comprehensive health-checkup. Better to enter early (as early as 7.30). The tests were conducted as soon as the doctor/operators arrived. Starting from blood-test to ENT consultation, everything was handled professionally and quickly. Recommended to get this test done on a weekday. On Weekends it gets quite crowded very soon.
I met the pulmonologist, Dr Divyasree twice. She really took care and her medicine made me feel better. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The system showed my birthday and the hospital wished me at the doctor's with a gift. Heart-warming surprise!
Does not live up to the standards of Manipal with respect to the hygiene standards. The waiting time is too long, this i have experienced after taking a prior appointment. They have this vitals assessment just before the consultation with the Dr., the funny part is my height kept increasing every week during my visit to the hospital. The prices for consultation is obnoxiously high, specially when it comes to just a min of observation from the Dr. The Dr. Is highly reviewed on Practo though, but my experience was extremely stealth. The Dr. Would only answer, when i ask him questions referring to the report. For the first appointment, he would generally not ask to get my tests done, but would only ask it on the follow up day. I felt its a big money minting business altogether. Highly disappointed!
The consultation with doctors is very professional but the OPD chaos at the billing section and vital checking section can be a little difficult concerning crowd and overflow of patients. The doctors are very patient-friendly and also have been very concerned after subsequent visits.
LETHARGIC, INDIFFERENT, MISMANAGED, COMMERCIAL - words that describe Malathi Manipal Hospital. If medical profession has become a business, this Manipal hospital is the epitome of such commercialization of medical services. While the nursing, the security and support staffs are cordial, helpful and execute their duties to their best, the hospital fails in all other departments. Starting with admission, billing, insurance, the duty doctors and the main doctors, all fail to see the patient as a human but view them as avenue to earn. With a close relative admitted here, I experienced the vagaries of the corporatised medical care in Bengaluru! Patients are no more than a business opportunity here and way to earn for both the hospital and doctors. It pains to see doctors reduce themselves to marketing agents who see the patient as an object to be 'cured' rather than a human who has to be 'healed'. That psychological factor in the patient-doctor relationship that helps in healing was clearly missing at this hospital. Communication with patients, among the various departments, and even the doctors is pathetic. The insurance and in-patient departments are more interested in ensuring commercial benefits for themselves rather than admit the patient first for treatment even while they are suffering in pain. In a movie like scene, while my relative was in pain, the admission and insurance departments were haggling over the ward permitted and the price - PRIORITIES! Guess this is how doctors get paid obscene amounts because of corporatorized healthcare system bought in by the West. The canteen behaves like a commercial hotel and asks the patients/caretakers repeatedly if they have paid for items provided. Doctors treat/communicate with the patients very mechanically with least amount of warmth. Except the deluxe wards, all other wards including the private wards are cramped for space but over priced. Car parking charges per hour is higher than the fares at commercial malls, indicating the priorities of this hospital. In conclusion, have Malathi Manipal Hospital as the last resort and opt for any other reputed hospital which prefers humane treatment of patients over crass commercialization.
Visited the emergency room earlier this week due to a fall experienced by a family member. The ER doctors(One of them being Dr. Neveditha) were either not very experienced or just didn't care enough to do a thorough check up not to mention the fact their attitude during the entire ordeal was rather apathetic. They let us leave without giving a tetanus injection and the only reason we came back and asked was cause we were billed for it. The only plus side was that the nurses were helpful and kind.
Very good hospital. General Dr. Manjunath R, Gynecologist Dr. Jyotsana Madan. Have good Lab facility. Have Sacnning, Echo, ECG, Ultrasound, X-ray, CT scan and other facilities. Have well maintained rooms for inpatients. 24x7 staff nurses to keep watch of your health. Ortho Dr. Chidanand was there he left a few years back. Limited 4 wheel Parking facility, you need to park your vehicle on road side, however there is always police risk . Let me know your feedback
This hospital has very good and polite staffs. My father had triple vessel disease , he was asymptomatic but luckily he was diagnosed by Dr.Arun Kumar Ullegaddi he did PTCA (stenting) very perfectly, and explained everything accurately, it's our good luck to have being treated by such a skilled doctor, we will be deeply indebted for his service and we liked his politeness and way of explaining to patients.
