A kind of offroad trek, but spectacular view of surrounding mountains as well as distant view of rajgad, torna, mangalgad. Few of the ramparts & bastions intact, with a small temple. Remnants of buildings present as well. Easy grade trek, possible to be ascended in 1.15 to 1.45 hrs

Just amazing experience to be at the top of the fort. The kangori devi shivkalin temple gives you pleasant worshiping atmosphere. There are many old water resovires which give you the idea of how high architectural is been used.
offbeat, calm trek route. I visited 3 times in Mar-apr 2022 to get my planned photo, very humid place. no water to drink after march. morning was awsm!
The fort is not 'that well taken care of'... Make sure to carry enough supplies of water.. go in the weeks past shivjayanti, as the roads, and grass upon them are burnt.. or you will have to deal with slippery grass starting from halfway, all the way to the top..
Mangalagad aslo popularly know as Kangori fort among local people. If going from pune then after Varandha village take left from Dhalkathi village. Gogawalewadi is about 15km from here which is base village. Parking place open n free. Stay n homemade food is available. Trek start point is indicated by a board. Almost 90 minutes trek. Last portion of trek is very slippery due to slope and grass. So its very risky in all seasons. No food n water available on the fort. Fort top is small. Kangori mata temple and bastion are places to be seen. Mahabaleshwar, Mohangad, chandragad, Raigad forts are visible from the top.
Best isolated and calm place for trekking, moderate level, 2 points were hard and stiff, in summer must have good shoes are dried grass was slippery
